Is it true the case itself is made out of paper/cardboard?? I've been trying to track one down without much luck though Saks (NYC) said they'll be getting more in soon so took my contact info down. But now I'm unsure if I want to splurge. I thought the case was a hard plastic?

Yes, recycled, bio-degradable cardboard, so it is expected to fall apart over time.

Went in and saw the item in person today, passed.

This was never intended to be a bang-for-your-buck item lol. It’s a novelty piece and meant to be enjoyed as one.

I wonder if there’s a way to preserve the cardboard perfume bottle - maybe coat it with something? Although I don’t really plan on man-handling mine, I was just going to leave it on my shelf lol.

Maybe try some clear acrylic coating aerosol spray? It will probably make the case glossy but it may work ;)

This actually makes me so annoyed, 800 dollars for cheap stickers and plastic bracelets and other things that looks like they found in a inventory drawer somewhere and they needed to get rid of.
It all seems like a very french joke.
These are items I’ve gotten for free when I’ve bought makeup and perfumes, I can’t believe they have packaged it in a huge gimmicky box and are now selling it for 800 dollars

I just got my $800 cardboard perfume bottle today!!!! Lmao…

The perfume bottle itself actually feels sturdy! I went ahead and opened everything lol. Some of the items are definitely cheap, like something you would get out of those 50 cent toy vending machines at a grocery store hahahaha. Honestly I think my favorite non-beauty items are the mirror and pin that are both shaped like a perfume bottle.

I’m going to do a DIY project with the the calendar. It’s either going to come out really crappy or really nice lol… Stay tuned!

Lol my cardboard bottle also en route to me , If it wasn’t for my favorite perfume no 5, I would have passed on it. Please post pic of your DIY project. I have tons of camellia flowers that I collected over the years, I may stick them on the cardboard bottle and place it in my room!

I definitely will! I’m headed to the craft store tomorrow to pick up a few items. I love your idea of adorning the bottle with camellias… I bet that would look lovely!
