Interesting you went with one of each. Lovely and I'm super jealous (I have neither, leaning towards the brillant).
Given that you have both, you'll be a great person to ask. Does the brillant buckle bother you? The tempete is definitely easier to open and close.

It's easy to undo with one hand - a little harder to do up with one hand but very easy with two. The Tempete is much easier to get into but finding the little pin hole to close it can also require two hands
