Thank you ladies. I do think it is a seam. I ordered them in nude patent and there is definitely a seam in the exact same places. It's just odd (and a bit annoying) that every online photograph has photoshopped it out. Here it is circled for reference. It probably depends on the shoe.

It may be they put it there on purpose because it is a location that may crease anyway.

Favourite has got to be classic biker , so comfortable! Love all my boots though
