Thank you for this, very helpful. This may be a dumb question. But how does another store determine which store is home store? For example i have bought things from other H stores. Which I now understand Is a big no no when trying to build a relationship with a SA. I’m just curious, is there something in the system that says what your home store is?
No. They will look at which store you shop at most often and consider that your primary store. In order to change stores, you will need to shop with one store exclusively for some time before they trust that you are legitimately solely their customer. I nearly lost out on my first B offer because of a single twilly purchase made via the website. That was enough for the SM to question my loyalty ( and it was a limited edition brides de gala Love twilly which my SA had already told me they wouldn’t be able to get for me)...

Ya, I did the Same thing.. I didnt understand the “exclusive” relationship one must have with the store. Apparently when my Sa advocated for me, I was turned Down because I had bought random things at different H stores while traveling. Oops. So I am trying to remain “loyal” haha.. just trying to see if it’s worth my effort or if I should switch stores. I do Like my SA though, she is very very sweet and helpful.

Actually, the customer decides on which store they give the most business and that would be considered their home store. I told the Bellagio SA that they are my home store even though I've one in the State and have made almost 100% of my purchases with them. You're of course be 'forgiven' to shop at other stores for hard to find things but due to commissions, the staff would prefer that you don't shop around as they can always transfer things for you from other stores. They don't get the commissions but they still get credit for bringing the business.

I think crystals has the best B/K availability, and then Bellagio. But I've found the staff at Bellagio to be a bit warmer. Either way, it's very doubtful that, without a 10k usd jewelry purchase, one will get a B/K on their first visit, especially if you have another home store on your profile.
I got my first Kelly at Bellagio without dropping a dime. And since then have been able to get more bags, every 6 months to be exact. Without useless spending.

Share your secrets!! you must have the best personality!
Lol my husband says I get them with my charm. Honestly, I’m not sure what it is about me that makes these SAs give me bags because I get them in Europe as well lol. Got a Birkin in Barcelona and a Kelly in France ( not Paris).
I think I don’t come off desperate, I don’t get all dressed up, I go in very casual look around. And I don’t approach them first. Once they approach me I ask to see an item that I’m actually interested in, I buy it and then I ask for a bag.
I have a funny story about French Hermes store. So I walk in, and there’s a sales woman stAnding right there looking at me, so I approach her and ask for a bag right away, to which she says: sorry we don’t have any right now. I thanked her and walked away, looking at scarfs another SA approaches me 5 min later, I get the scarf, and a bracelet and then I asked her for a bag, she says what color do you want? I said anything bright. She leaves and comes back with a capucine 30cm Birkin, I was shocked. After I bought it she told me they also had a Kelly in etoupe. So I think it just depends on the SA and finding a connection with them right away. I hope this helps ))

I concur with a lot of other tpfers on here that Bellagio is amazing and their customer service is top notch. I was there in August and I actually bought both from Crystals and Bellagio. It took close to 10-15 minutes for a SA to approach me in Crystals and they were not busy only one other woman in the store. I bought my H belt there anyways and later on in my trip decided I wanted to pick up a pair of the Oran sandals and a clic h bracelet so I decided to go to the Bellagio boutique since that was where we stayed. I was approached immediately with the utmost respect and that SA and boutique will be my home store now. He offered an Evelyne to me which I did not buy simply because I spent too much money on that trip lol but we instantly connected and I know how hard it is to find a good, caring SA at any fashion house and I’m thankful I did. I live an hour from Orlando, FL where the new H boutique will be in a couple months but I cannot be tempted I must stay away! Lol

Wow!!! You must seriously have some charm lol .. how do you usually ask for bags? Like what words do you use. Or do you just flat out say, “do you have a Kelly?”.. I’m always so curious what the best way to ask is.

When I was in Europe, I picked some things I was buying and after they asked if I wanted anything else, I smiled and said: a bag? And immediately they asked which one, which meant they had something. The first time I went into Bellagio And was approached by the sweetest SA I asked for a Kelly and she said they don’t have any, but to leave my number and she would call me. She called the same night.

Because of my business travel, like it or not, I will always be a promiscuous H shopper in different countries. My SA and SM know about it. I do let them be first in line to bleed my wallet out. So I am not sure about the needs to be 'forgiven'.

These are amazing stories. Seriously some Hermes Cinderella stories! I can Only hope this Happens to me once. But I am quite a reserved and quiet person. I have A hard time being outgoing until I know someone. So most likely the long route is the way for me. Either way, thanks so much for sharing your experience!

Same scenario except at Crystals. I am forever loyal to my amazing SA now, though. This is coming from someone with 6+ local stores in the greater NYC area. I wouldn't dare purchase anything anywhere else, and I'm not even really tempted to try my luck in Paris.

Thank you for sharing your stories, ladies! Your wonderful experiences influenced my decision making and here's my long story:

I vacation a few times a year in Europe and the States. I used to only shop while I was on vacation, so I never had a home store. Last year, I committed to my tiny local H store in Canada to be my home store. They require 1:1 spending to be considered a B/K and there's a long wait list. Two of my SA's quit in the past year and I've been annoyed that I had to rebuild rapport.

After following this chat, I decided to change my home store to either Bellagio or Crystals. On my first day in Vegas, I visited the Bellagio store first due to most people's raving reviews. An SA showed me some SLG's, and then, I told her that I was interested in switching my home store to Bellagio or Crystals. She encouraged me to check out the SLG's at Crystals and to gauge the store to see which one I would prefer to shop at.

At Crystals, a few SA's approached me and they were friendly and helpful. However, I felt that I had to engage them to be warmer. A few hours later, I went back to Bellagio and another SA assisted me. She thanked me for choosing Bellagio as my new home store and I requested a SLG from Crystals to be transferred to Bellagio. She said it'll arrive by noon the next day. I told her that I'll wait until her shift starts before visiting the store.

The next evening, I went back to Bellagio to pick up the SLG and I also tried on some jewelry. After choosing a necklace, my new SA offered me a B!!! I thought I misheard her and she repeated if I wanted a B. Lol. I asked if she had a B30, K28, or K25 in neutral colours. She said only a B35 in fauve barenia faubourg leather with phw is available. She opened the brand new box for me and I tried it on. The bag was gorgeous, but it was too heavy and bulky. She allowed me to try most of the bags in the store and she implied that I could buy them. However, I decided to stick with B's and K's. I reiterated that I'm committing to buy most of my H stuff with her even though it costs more in the States and I'll get taxed 12% when I return to Canada. Afterwards, I signed a credit card waiver form, so she could ship my future purchases to my vacation home in the States. We agreed to keep in touch via email until I visit her again in a few months.

Hopefully, I'll be offered one of my dream bags before the new Waikiki store opens in the Spring. If not, I'll buy one of my bags there, and hope all is forgiven as I'll still let my new SA drain my bank account.

I was in Vegas a week ago and scored a Birkin at Bellagio’s store. The SA was super sweet and friendly. I didnt ask about the bag because i didnt think i could get one. I purchased a belt for my husband that night. As i leaving the store, I mentioned to the SA about how i always wanted a Birkin and a Kelly bag. The next morning, the SA called me telling me that they have 2 Birkins just came in and asked if i want to get one. That’s how i got my first Birkin.
