For those of you who aren’t local to LV but have made it your home store after shopping regularly at a different boutique, have you had any issues making the transition or getting an SA to take you seriously?

My husband and I visit regularly enough that I’ve been giving serious consideration to leaving my seemingly very competitive home store (and an SA who I thought I was working well with, but our last few interactions have left a lot to be desired) and shopping exclusively at one of the Vegas boutiques instead.

I have a number of items at varying price points and across several categories that I’m hoping to find while visiting in a couple of weeks, but the SAs there will obviously be able to see that I have consistent purchase history over the last 6-7 months with my current location. I don’t know if it’s worth mentioning while shopping (I figured I’d say something if it comes up organically during the flow of the visit), but eventually I’d like to get to a point where I could discuss wishlist (non-QB and possibly QB for longer term wishes).

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated
I’ve verbatim heard Vegas SAs tell customers with pre established profiles elsewhere that they “should try their home store” rather than shop with Vegas.

That is absolutely true and primarily applies to QB

You will need to make a hard break with existing store and not buy a single item from them to “prove” that you are only shopping with them (Vegas). Perhaps make your next trip to Vegas the break point. Tell your new SA that you come to LV regularly, you’re not happy with local store inventory (or whatever) and want to be exclusive to them. Then do all your H shopping with them.

Hadn’t considered that, thanks for sharing

I’m from Canada and LV Crystals is my home store. My SA has a lot of Canadian clients and she has never once told me “you should shop in Canada”. I never brought up changing my home store, it was her who suggested I come back between Dec-Feb for the “best stock”. I think it depends on the relationship you build. I’m picking up my second QB from her this weekend and you do have to fly there within 10-15 days to pick it up.

We were specifically speaking of clients with an already established relationship at another US store. (Vegas can’t see your Canadian profile.)

I can easily imagine this scenario. When I was in Montréal looking at RTW, the SA politely suggested that he did not have my size and that my home store would be better able to help me. I do think these days, it would be a mistake to assume Vegas, simply bc it’s a vacation destination, would be easier to obtain QB. Just like other popukar locations, one might have to make a definitive break (demonstrated by a series of substantial purchases over some time) to be taken seriously. JMO

You can use your spouse’s account at LV I think?

Also, how “deep” are you in at your home store? If we’re at 1:1 or more I’d stick it out till you get smth from there first. I know sunk cost fallacy and all that but also grass is not always greener either.
Right now, I’m at about $9500 but haven’t even been offered one of the non-QBs on my wish list. There was the potential for a mini roulis (on my list) in a color that I would have loved but it doesn’t seem like the SM gave approval for it. That one in particular bummed me out because I was hoping it was going to end up being a birthday bag this year (she texted me to confirm my interest about three weeks before my birthday).

I’ve only been offered Picotins, which is quite frustrating as I’ve told my SA on a couple of occasions that I don’t care for bucket bags.

Hhmm your store sounds very competitive. If I were you I would get the offered Picotin, and pass it on to someone else (there’s a demand for Picotin both size 18 and 22), then move your business to a different store

I can't speak to how competitive a mini roulis is bc Ive never asked. $9500 + 6/7 months of shopping would still not quite get there for a QB. I never asked for a non-qb so I can't speak to whether that is abnormal or not in a competitive location. But the fact that you told your SA you don't like bucket bags and they keep on giving you a pico kind of annoys me. I personally wouldn't enjoy shopping there just for the fact that my SA is not paying attention esp if its been multiple offers. Feels almost like they couldn't sell it and is giving me the leftovers.

How often would you be able to pop in to Vegas? Geez such a hard call. All that time and effort. I'd hate to waste it. Maybe try to have a conversation with your SA about it? Let her know how you feel and ask her how disappointed you were with the roulis situation. If the conversation is positive and ends in a roulis pretty quickly then stick it out but if your SA is unresponsive or unmoved then move on?

How much would she be able to sell it over retail though if she goes through a reseller? If she's only able to sell it for cost it may not be worth it?
