Lab grown Diamonds - Thoughts?

Of course, this may not matter to most consumers who want to buy lab stones, but I still found it interesting. Some may have dismissed the potential lack of future resale value as being a drawback to purchasing a lab diamond, focusing on the idea that they are not only more accessible price-wise but the environmentally friendly choice, however is that actually the case?
When you compare the cost of a natural diamond to an identical LGD and the percentage lost on resale, it makes much more sense to purchase a LGD. Maybe it will bring down the grossly inflated cost of natural diamonds so that they will be more competitive. I had only purchased natural diamonds in the past but recently changed my opinion. I would still go with a natural diamond for an engagement ring but would not hesitate to buy LGD for fun fashion jewelry. Diamonds only have value to you, if you love them and wear them.

I finally bought a pair of lab diamond studs for the summer.
It was my first lab diamond purchase but it won’t be the last for sure.
As far as an engagement ring, a smart bride would do well to invest the difference in price, imo.

I think there is value to owning LGD when natural mined diamonds have consistently very little value on the resale market, unless they are a designer brand. You don’t buy diamonds with the thought of reselling them. No one can visually tell the difference and you get much more bang for your buck. I had never considered LGD in the past but I have changed my thoughts recently and purchased 2 carat diamond studs and a 2 carat diamond wedding band for a fraction of the price with excellent quality and clarity stones. Buy what makes you feel good because diamonds IMO are not a good “investment” and only have value to you if you love them and wear them.
I love this ring! Gorgeous....

To answer the subject heading, my husband’s thought is he never will have it to replace natural (he rather go small for natural than to go big on lab). My thought is I love natural to bits (who don’t) but I can’t always afford one big one. Life is short, we don’t have to “slave” ourselves to own a big AND natural diamond. It’s just a blingy thing. Buy what you can afford and just enjoy it and not overthink :P
I don’t own any lab; in fact I am over that diamond phase!

I'm totally for lab grown diamonds but can only buy online due to the country I live in, they are not available here that I know of and if they are I have no clue where to start looking being new to this country. Anyway, since my only option is online has anyone purchased and if so do you have any references that you were happy with and can share?
I have done alot of research on them but always open to more.

I have been very happy with all of my purchases from Brilliant Earth, Grown Brilliance, Adiamor and Saks 5th Ave. Please note that Saks lab grown diamonds often go on sale as much as 40% off, so never buy them full price.

For those that say lab have no resale value, I just sold my lab studs (I didn’t wear them anymore) to a vintage/preloved jeweller for about a quarter of what I paid. And that was “scrap” value because I had damaged the posts.

So, 25% may not be as good of rate of return as natural stones, but they’re not worthless either! I likely would have gotten a 50% RoR if they were in resell-able condition.

Saks off 5th has Badgley Mischka lab diamonds at 67% off + extra 10% off now!

I'm out of luck with Saks, not having that store here but will check out the others, thanks
Loose Grown Diamond (an online seller) has been recommended on this thread. I plan on getting a bracelet from them this year, prices are great and returns are accepted.

I was interested in lab grown but not anymore because of how much treatment goes into most of them. At that point its not really a diamond to me and it would be better to get a moissanite. Also its not much better for the environment, better to buy antique jewelry if the concern is about the environment IMO.
x2

I love antique jewelry and you can get beautifully crafted items that would cost so much more to remake. I love platinum so antique is how I get a better selection too, since fewer modern jewellers are willing to work with that metal
