Lab grown Diamonds - Thoughts?

Ok so this might be fun to post on this thread. I like having a lot of wedding rings, cuz I get bored and want to change them around. So, I did a bunch of research on lab diamonds (CVD type IIa is a MUST), and bought ONE. They come in all colors and sizes as you guys know (colorless, yellow, blue, pink, red, green, etc etc). So....guess which is lab? It's night here so I didn't have a chance to take the "same" pic with each one. So here we go - 2 colorless, 2 yellow...which is lab?

Is the lab grown no 2? Just going on the fact it might be hard to mine a yellow stone that big.
They are all completely stunning by the way :hbeat:

Ok it’s the round brilliant one! The yellows are mined. I am also debating getting another of those … I am drawn to the yellows! Here’s a pic of the lab round. Wearing it today.

I just read an article on E ring trends for 2022 #5 was lab create. This is what was said. I honestly still love my lab created stones even a few years later - they still sparkle like mad and I get compliments daily

5. Lab-created diamonds
Climate change has long been a hot topic, and for the environmentally-conscious couples out there, lab-created diamonds will continue to be a go-to. Not only are they kinder to the planet because there’s no mining involved, but they’re also guaranteed to be conflict-free, which makes them more ethical. But just because these diamonds are grown in a lab doesn’t mean they have less value. “From our perspective, synthetic diamonds are diamonds,” Stephen Morisseau, a spokesman for the Gemological Institute of America, told the Washington Post. “They’re not fakes. They’re not cubic zirconias. They have all the same physical and chemical properties of a mined diamond.” Translation: Lab-created rocks may cost a little less than mined diamonds because their supply chain is much shorter, but be prepared to still drop a pretty penny if you choose to go this route.

Anyone purchased lab diamonds from places?
Where do you go? I've seen them at Ritani, James Allen, anywhere else people are shopping?
I've talked to Ada Diamonds (they have showrooms in NYC and SF) and I've checked out Adiamor. Both seemed solid and reputable. I think we are going to end up going with Ascot Diamonds in Atlanta just because they're local for us and they have been very patient and nice with my very specific requests (haha). I have a fear of buying big ticket items sight unseen so I couldn't convince myself to purchase from an online-only retailer. Ascot will also allow the convenience of local ring maintenance service.

If you‘re comfortable with online retailers, Brian Gavin Diamonds (known for their cut quality) started cutting lab stones not long ago. I have purchased mined stones from them and their super-ideal cut is stunning. Here is a link to their lab stones: https://bglab.briangavindiamonds.com/

Lab grown diamonds are a combination of technology, lower price and environmental friendliness. What I love about them is that they are absolutely the same as natural ones. What I know about them for sure is that they can't grow too big, and this is the greatest difference between natural and lab-grown diamonds. If they grow too big, flaws, bubbles, and scratches appear in them and on their surfaces.

What’s “too big”? How many carats?

Only the poor quality ones. CVD type IIa don't. Plenty of them 8+ carat vvs, E/F color. Don't ever get HPHT, only CVD type IIa.

I read all your comments and I’m not sure what route to go. I want a 2.5 carat and lab is ideal due to price but if I want natural my bf can only get me 2 carats which is not bad bc my finger is size 4.25.

has anyone purchase from Vrai?
