I broke out with La Mer. I've used La Prairie samples and bought a jar of their eye cream, which is all right. Overall, my skin care line is Amore Pacific and my skin has never looked better.

for the purpose of this poll, I have to say La Prairie is better for sensitive, break-out prone skin.

Ok so i went back to Saks today (Returned the La Prairie) and confirmed with the La Mer SA that the Creme De La Mer Gel creme does NOT contain mineral oil. She said the original Creme does but not the gel one. I feel so much better now. Thanks ladies for your help though :heart:

Now I go back to my HG La Mer skin care preaching :woohoo:

I was thinking of buying la mer and remembered seeing a topic title about it. Now i am really confused lol. I just recently started using the clinique anti-blemish 3 step, and my face started to get really dry, and i needed a good moisturizer to fix it all up. I used to have a bit of an oily skin, and I get red and break out quite easily. I was about to buy la mer gel since I was told gel was better for acne prone skin.

Im not really sure which to choose now lol. I guess ill just have to read more reviews about each.

By the way, the la prairie moisturizer that you are refering to is it the Cellular Moisturiser SPF 15?

i love both! i alternate between creme de la mer and my la prairie anti-aging anti-spot and the marine one (in the green jar). la mer moisturizes my skin very well, the anti-aging la prairie one makes my skin look translucent, and the marine la prairie makes it feel super refined. please don't make me choose! :p

people sell samples on ebay. I know it sucks to buy samples but its MUCH better then buying a bottle of something you dont like. Saks wont return any cosmetic item opened online, You would have to take it to the store so if you dont live near one that could really be trouble for you. Just an idea. I have a sample of the la prairie cream I think if you PM me ill send it to you. (If this is allowed) If not im sorry.

I love the la mer facial lifrting swrum--i use it all oveer my face and neck and around my eyes with amazing results and no breakouts. I followed it up with the creme de la mer and low and behold i developed the acne of a 13 year old girl! I stopped the cream, use the serum only, and my skin is now clear and bright. i am trying to find out if i can return the used la mer cream because it was horrible and am waiting to hear back from la mer. I used it sparingly for 2 weeks in a 2 oz jar, so it is barely used. Has anyone been able to return a used la mer product. The creme de la mer is a waste of $200. The serum rocks. It sounds like la prarie is good so when I finish my serum I'll give them a try.

I used to be a total La Mer fanatic, although the creme was a bit heavy on my skin so I could only wear it at night. However, a few weeks ago I went to the La Prairie spa and got a facial and bought the products my facialist recommend. Let me tell you, my skin looks better than ever! I thought La Mer was good but I think La Prairie is much better for my early 20s skin. So I guess it's all dependent on your skin type :smile1:.
