I hear you.

I remembered Sophie Marceau, a French actress from the Bond movie and wondered whatever became of her since some tpf members pointed out that their non American actresses age gracefully. Sophie Marceau has a point in her interview. Monica Bellucci also echoed the same about aging.

From Quora:
Looking back through her old interviews, I’m struck by journalists’ tendency to objectify her, swooning over her “eyes that you might write poetry about” and “thick glossed hair that tempts the fingers”. One writer called Marceau “the most distractingly sexy woman I have ever met”.

“Better than a knock in the face, huh?” Marceau laughs, when I ask if such comments ever bothered her. “I’m not going to complain about being told I’m beautiful. It’s always pleasant to hear. But I’ve always been aware that beauty is temporary and I don’t want to get trapped by it.” She compares beauty to wealth. “You see those super-rich people, how horrible they feel when they lose a little money. All they can think is: I was rich-er! It’s ridiculous to be like that. If you can only focus on what you lose you do not see how much you have.”

She softens. “I’m getting older. I can never be more beautiful than I was and it would be sick to chase that. I need to be free in my work and that means feeling the emotions – not thinking about my wrinkles.”

——-
She’s still typical French. Wears no bra in the summer at the age of 60.

Going back to American celebrities, yes, I think there is still a long way to go in terms of aging gracefully. Also, as @limom pointed out, these plastic surgeries seem free to them as long as they mention the provider / plastic surgeon.
I'm European and I do think that all these extreme procedures are more common in the US than over here. I agree with you that both Sophie Marceau and Bellucci have both aged gracefully. I always remember an interview with Ines de la Fressange (exactly my age) who, when asked whether she envisaged plastic surgery in her future, answered that she would think about it when she would see a succesful one! There may be some good ones but the vast majority are not good IMO. Kris is just one example, another that comes to my mind is a Moroccan (?) Princess (I forget her name) who everybody says is beautiful but looks like a plastic doll.

Hmmm. I don't know why, and I don't like how we always come to the word 'gracefully' when we talk the appearance of women getting older.
One could say I like or I don't like how the results of procedures look, but deny s. o. dignity because of their appearance?
What is this even, aging gracefully, when it is mostly a topic about women?

Yes, it is definitely more common here than in Europe. However, both Monica, Sophie and Ines are no strangers to PS.
So much hypocrisy, imo.

I feel the same way about the phrase “women of a certain age”. You would never say that a man is of a certain age. It’s a cute but demeaning phrase that is essentially apologizing for getting older. Like it’s an embarrassment so you have to soft sell it.

Oh yes, oh yes!

(Don't let me get started with "xy looks good - for her age")

I keep saying I'm old (but I am) and not that long ago, people were embarrassed to be caught having plastic surgery. Subtle was the way to go.

Now people are asking for extreme changes to get in the news with titles like - look at her new face! They want you to see the transformations. It's not seen as taboo as in the past.

if I were Kris, I'd be self-conscious and uncomfortable showing the world my old lovely face wasn't good enough for my ego.

Kris is far too entrenched in the LA/celebrity scene to think like that. PS is commonplace in her world starting with young teens.

It’s called mid-life crisis for men. 😂 but yes, only a few celeb men do plastic surgery - or so we think. Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Michael Douglas, David Beckham, and Marc Jacobs - just saw an Instagram reel of him blowing out candles for his 62nd bday, how is he 62?!

It's one thing to refresh, but to give yourself a whole new face... ?

Anyway, we haven't really seen her new face, a lot looks heavily filtered. Khloe also has a whole new face which is very similar.

Yeah, I agree until one sees candids or see the people in the wild. It is all filters, photoshop and more.
At this point, they all look like cartoons/ai rendition.

I’m not sure what kind of face lift she has. I don’t think it is deep plane. People who get deep plane don’t smile right away, and their mouth seems a bit stretched out. I did see some video candids of her with her new face, and I see wrinkles around the lips when the filter glitches.

Candids will come out soon.

I’m surprised that young PS she used doesn’t have before and after pics of his work on his website or Instagram even though he is a ‘famous’ PS. He is going to be booked if Kris looks better and better as time passes.

I just saw pics of Mark Jacobs before and after his PS:wtf:.....I always thought he was handsome, now...not so much! Just another in a long list of PS failures together with Kris.

She’s disciplined. Works out first thing in the morning nowadays. 4:30am to be exact.

Filter glitches reveal the skin texture, but overall her jawline is undeniably snatched.

Like comments say, nothing screams LA rich when you’re 70 and looking 45.
