Knitting for Beginners

I want to learn how to knit but I have no idea where to even begin. I don't know anything at all about knitting but I would like to learn. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to begin? Thanks in advance.

I have been wanting to learn to knit for a long time. I checked out Yarn stores in my area and found that many give classes on weekends. I start my first one next Saturday and I cant wait. So check it out in your area!

Knitting for Dummies and Vogue Knitting are two books that really helped me.

Hands on was a lot easier for me to learn - sometimes the store giving the class gives a discount on their yarn, too- so many beautiful yarns now Have fun!

Don't waste to your money on a class.

Start by locating your local snb group: Yahoo! Groups : Search Results

Prepare by purchasing yarn and needles and going through the basic videos on KnittingHelp.com : Learn to Knit - Free online Knitting Videos. - learn to cast on, then to do the knit stitch. When you get stuck, then start going to your snb group.

I got a book called Stitch n' *****, I forget who it's by. It helped me learn the basics.
