Hey guys! Converted the largest pouch into a crossbody thanks to amazon! Chain was $8 and the felt organizer was $20
Hey, I just bought the new escale kirigami set and was looking at this exact organizer on amazon. Do you still like it and how did it fair with wear and tear on the bag? My concern is with others saying kirigami lining peels easily that the rubbing of metal against it will be too abrasive.

Hey, so I got both of the amazon options. the $20 insert converter and the $27 plastic sleeve and insert set. I have 2 large kirigami pochettes that I use them with, 1 leather and 1 monogram. I got the insert converter summer of last year, and I just got the plastic sleeve last week. I hope my review below will help ^^

First off, I always feel super creative and chic wearing my kirigami as a crossbody ^^ . however it does have some ( maybe pretty major ) flaws. The d-ring on the insert does extend out very far, so the clasp on the chain is always digging into the corner of the flaps and in danger of falling off the D-ring. It happened to me once at a restaurant, I just made like I meant to take off my purse to pay ( but it would be weird if it happened while on public transit....) I had been using the insert converter for 3-4 months when I noticed that the clasp on the chain was rubbing away the waxed edge on the flap ( so right were the clasp for the chain and the d-ring on the insert meet, that area on the kirigami is a bit warped and the edging is rubbed off ) the insert itself isn't doing anything. I still use it (b/x the damage is done ) and I like the look. The felt insert has never " slipped out of my kirigami, it fits well and I can organize / fit more into the pochette when I use the insert vs when I don't

The $27 set is pretty worth it, I think there was a price decrease since last year. Set includes 1 plastic sleeve ( which has a 'phone pocket' in the back), 1 felt insert, 2 chains ( a long metal chain and a short plastic one ) and a "twilly" type scarf. This set is pretty new for me but already I can tell there Might be an issue moving forwards. First, the plastic sleeve for the set is very fitted so there may be a bit of resistance getting it into the sleeve ( but this means it won't randomly slip out on you ). and with that is the fear of tearing/ warping your kirigama as you pull you kirigami out of the sleeve. The material is good its a thick clear plastic, and it's held into its shape using brass/ gold snaps (so I'm not worried about it's construction ). I haven't used it in the summer enviroment, so I question if the plastic will fuse ( I hope it wont!!). Second the screw which holds the drings for pouch are pretty abrasive and I'm just always afraid that this is the time the screw will make a mark on my pouchette. The felt insert is pretty nifty, the design is different than the photos shown on the page, it does NOT have the metal bits at the top, so it is ONLY and insert. Its does have 2 small pockets in the back, a large compartment and a short front compartment. I have decided to keep the set, mostly because the plastic sleeve ( with a bit of modifications ) will also fit the "first generation " rivet envelope pochette ( which I think launched the kirigami line ?)

Thank you so much this is super helpful. I ordered just the felt insert yesterday and I think maybe I will amend it to remove the hardware up top and create my own holes in the material to put my chain in. You have a very good point about the plastic protector possibly being a bad idea in the summer which is kinda the only season to use the tie dye lol. I wasn’t a fan of making the bag look cheap by adding the plastic so I’m hoping the insert works out for me. I am surprised that all other felt options are so plain and many don’t have rivets for a chain.

Please share your experiences of the KIRIGAMI set in monogram. Do they still have glazing issues. Thinking of getting one. It seems to have a great clutch and smaller SLGs for catch-all. YOUR THOUGHTS PLEASE...
Hi Raaz,
I've had my set for a couple of years now, and no problems with glazing, threading, peeling or anything. I put mine back in the box emptied, wrapped in tissue paper and then put the box in a ziplock clear baggie and store in a temperature controlled environment. I do that with all my leather items. Plus, I am kinder in handling those pieces. I use them for gum, mints, facial tissue, Bath & Body Works scented travel mini hand sanitizers, etc.. I like for all my items to look pristine.

Question about the peeling. I just bought a pre-loved set, that I missed out on a year ago. I saw that it had some peeling. What can be done to prevent further peeling? What is peeling? Is it the top layer coming off? When I receive it I will see how noticeable it is IRL, but I think I will keep it if it's not too obvious. Can LV do anything about it? TIA.

Good question EpiFanatic, it is hard to say without seeing it. I wonder if the Epi (as in your namesake) has the same problem ? When it comes, please photo and post. In the meantime, I would look to YouTube to see if anyone has had to repair their own.

Here is a pic from the reseller. It seems obvious but I wonder if this condition spreads or gets worse. I’ve seen some threads with pics of pieces with severe peeling showing the LV print peeling off. It makes my OCD kick in and I just want to peel off the “skin” and hope it doesn’t get worse. I will see how bad it actually is when I receive it. I love the smaller pieces and I would just use the biggest one as a clutch.
