To be fair, I think it's about balance.
Individuals like KK have everything in the world, far far more than they will ever need. They deliberately flaunt it and also, as previously mentioned, give out so much information that it is easy for anyone, let alone criminals, to find out where they are at any given time.
I don't see criticism as "victim shaming" or accusing someone of inviting being robbed as having put themselves in that position.
I think that it is prudent to be careful, that is all. Many people are in such poverty that they do not have enough pennies to buy food, but they don't steal. Others, even if wealthy, will always want more and are easily tempted by the abundance of nice things that are on display and are not hard to steal.
If one can afford nice things, that's lovely for them, but they may be noticed by unsavoury characters and it's just wise to be mindful of security. Apparently, Hermes customers ask for plain white carrier bags to carry out their items to try and avoid becoming a potential target by undesirables. Other ladies enjoy wearing their expensive jewellery; bangles for example, but cover up with sleeves if they feel uncomfortable. That's common sense, surely. No-one knows who's watching them.
Such is the way of the world, even more so in this economic climate.
