Is this a normal time frame for a case to go to trial in France? It seems unusually long from the crime to trial, 8+ years. Sh!t some days I can’t remember what I did yesterday, how can you give a accurate statement in trial? I’m sure that they obviously made statements/notes after the incident but still.
The thieves were mostly senior citizens and had medical issues. Plus French Justice is even slower than molasses.
She is scheduled to testify on the 13.
There is not a lot of public sympathy toward Kim and the robbers have some type of following. One even wrote a book.

It was so long ago that I didn’t remember that they were senior citizens.
One even died already.
The thing is while I can understand that Kim was traumatized, the whole robbery was so poorly executed, it is almost like a parody/comedy.
the robbers did not have a clue who Kim was and were tipped by an employee that she had an extremely valuable ring.
Like Kourtney astutely remarked:

Vanity fair has a good write up of the situation:

If you can’t afford to lose it , you can’t afford it in the first place…
The only piece of jewelry that was recovered is the cross that one of the robber dropped during their escape…:giggle:

Plus, Kim did not learn a damned thing, she is just as shallow as ever… and I am a fan of hers…

this is why people thought that she was lying and it was all a setup for insurance! they were saying no way it could have been real. and when it comes to "can't afford to lose it" items I make sure to leave it at home and that is just going out casually! it would never be a thought of taking it on a trip.

Yes, it was so negligent on her part.
And they paid over 30k a night to stay in that place with minimal security.
The night guard/receptionist was the only one hurt.
The robber noticed in his book, how cooperative Kim was during the robbery. She smartly did not put on a fuss.
And she still flosses in the net, Kim is dense

It’s not about the money. Some people haven’t been robbed and it shows.
I have been robbed three times, including a violent attack on the subway.
When I went to file a complaint at the police department, the cops told me, honey you have been here for three years. It was only a matter of time. Plus I got a lecture on how to behave and what to look for. I took it as an education/life lesson/good advice.
I was scared to get back down and took the bus for years.
I also followed the police recommendations to the letter. It is life.
It is not a lack of compassion but otoh you have to have common sense and not rub your wealth like I did on public transportation.
My mother even yelled at me, with an even more stern lecture.
Don’t tempt the devil.

All good, I just don’t agree.
I won’t accept victim shaming.
Wearing or having nice things, doesn’t make me feel worthy or deserving of being violated.
We all feel differently about it, which is fine.
I had a Valentino stolen right off my lap in Austin and my DD quipped “omg mommmmm you’re so dumb for taking it off your arm!”
Oh sure kiddo, FOR SURE my fault.
Hard to fly home that weekend without ID…

She lives in Manhattan now, I raised a NYer from TX LOL
