I will try and watch it again from the start, maybe this winter. Wouldn't be the first time I didn't like a show but ended up enjoying it.
I agree, from the few episodes I did watch- Kevin's performance was great. He makes it look effortless plus he's handsome to look at so there's that

It's also a shame they didn't cast a Native American actress for the Monica role, but something is making me think I read something about that a while back. That the woman who was cast as Monica claimed she was part Cherokee (named a particular tribe) and the tribe came out to say that they have no record of her being a descendant. It made her look stupid if she was lying as I'm sure she was trying to take some heat off of criticism for her not being Native American playing that role. I'd believe the tribe over an actress in that instance!

I read that also.

I know it’s hard to find the right people for these kinds of shows, but I can’t believe there isn’t one Native American woman capable of the role. Huge missed opportunity to showcase a NA actress.

I actually didn’t care much for Kevin Costner for a long time. Waterworld ruined him for me. Then I sat down and watched Yellowstone and really enjoyed him and now I’m a fan.

The first few seasons are excellent. Love the drama. Season 4 and the first half of 5 have gotten iffy with me (too much country music hodown nonsense for my taste) but sticking with it to the end. Really going to miss Kevin in these final episodes.

and that actress wasn't all that good anyway...she (actress and/or character) became irritating for me

could be....I'm a Beth fan...love to see her go off on people - something like Susie Essman on Curb Your Enthusiasm
OT You know she was in Pride and Prejudice? Caroline Bingley 2005

Apologies if I already posted this.

I thought the chemistry between her and Costner seemed forced. On his part.

Release the first part streaming by September, build audience and release #2 at Thangsving and second Christmas Day.

Oh good! I refuse to go to the movie theater (people are too annoying) and look forward to watching at home. Especially a three hour movie so I can pause and take breaks without missing anything.

Hopefully parts 2-4 will follow on streaming not too long after cinema release.

A little concerning that the reviews have been so bad. But I’ll still give it a try.

Rather than four movies he should have made it a series to stream directly on one of the platforms. I don’t think this is the kind of movie that does well in theaters.

It will be streaming first on PPV July 16 and then on max. It makes sense. This will find its audience this way.

I watched Horizon last night. Finally streaming for free on Max.

What an awful movie. How do I get the three hours of my life back?

For all the years that Kevin Costner has been acting and exposed to good story writing and film making, it surprised me to see him put out something so poorly written and put together.

His ego and vanity got the better of him in putting up his own money to make this movie series. Yikes.

There were a lot of boring moments. A few where the story interested me. Many moments where I didn’t quite know what was going on or how a moment of the movie was relevant to the overall story. Some moments where there were obvious gaps in the story and you had to wonder if you magically missed something while you were watching. Some moments were truly unintentionally laughable.

The script and storytelling needed to be tightened up. I was left at the end not knowing where the overall story was going and honestly not really caring.

It would have been better as four different movies with each individual movie focusing on one story (I think the movie has four different storylines, maybe three, woke up not caring to give it much deep thought). There seemed to be no intention of implying if these separate stories tie together in the end or will all remain siloed.

If I hadn’t taken too long of a nap yesterday afternoon I would have fallen asleep during the movie and not have cared about what I missed.
