Well save your money. The movie while beautifully filmed is too long and some of the acting was laughable at times.
Sienna Miller is just not cut for this period piece and overact at times.
Kevin role is predictable and whoever
Did his hair ought to retire. The color is worst than my own attempt during Covid.
Miss Miller on the other hand has perfectly highlighted and coiffed hair.
There are so many storylines, it is confusing at times.
The best part is the scenery. America is indeed beautiful.
the one review I read said there were too many close shots and not enough panoramic views...they didn't like the movie

I’m aware. But it’s a story around the Dutton family and now the main character is just dropping off the face of the Earth?
So stupid. He should have saved his money and time and not bothered with this other lacklustre BS “American Saga”
It is definitely his vision.
At one point, I felt like I was watching Little House on the Prairie. It is so naively portrayed.
Would love to know what Native Americans are thinking about their portrayals in all of this.
Spoiler: at the end of the show, the song playing was amazing grace. It had zero to do with the story line. Just weird and disjointed, imo.

He does love to insert himself in Native American cultural history portrayals *ahem* Dances with Wolves

I wonder how they will write his character off.

and I wish Taylor would have stuck with the Very successful show instead of spinning it off multiple times. the idea of a show with Jimmy as the main character was ridiculous (and hasn't materialized yet?)

Anyway a lot of people got a lot of entertainment out of Yellowstone

Is that show related to 1923?

1883 is a Prequel to Yellowstone (one season, already aired).

1923 is a prequel to Yellowstone (season 2 just began filming).

1944 is another prequel to Yellowstone, in development (I’ve read that Matthew McConaughey will star in this).

2024 is in development as a Yellowstone sequel to pick up where Yellowstone leaves off.

6666 is a spinoff of Yellowstone with Jimmy as the transitional character (filmed at the actual 6666 ranch owned by Taylor Sheridan).

Taylor Sheridan is a busy man! He’s got several other non-Yellowstone shows he’s working on concurrently to these.

Wow! I had no idea there were so many branches to Yellowstone with so many shows 'related' to each other.

I watched a few episodes of Yellowstone but I just couldn't get into it. I thought it was an odd show and a bit stale to watch, I couldn't understand it's popularity TBH!

I wasn’t interested at first. Then I got sucked in. It’s a cowboy soap opera. And I enjoyed Kevin Costner’s character and performance.

I recently found out that the actress who plays Monica is Chinese, not Native American. Which I found hugely disappointing. They couldn’t find a Native American actress to play Monica?

They might have looked for a name. She also changed her name. Her actual last name is Chow. She might be cancelled by Gen Z in the near future…

Same! And I wanted to get into it. Oh well. Still like Costner though. 😊

I will try and watch it again from the start, maybe this winter. Wouldn't be the first time I didn't like a show but ended up enjoying it.
I agree, from the few episodes I did watch- Kevin's performance was great. He makes it look effortless plus he's handsome to look at so there's that

It's also a shame they didn't cast a Native American actress for the Monica role, but something is making me think I read something about that a while back. That the woman who was cast as Monica claimed she was part Cherokee (named a particular tribe) and the tribe came out to say that they have no record of her being a descendant. It made her look stupid if she was lying as I'm sure she was trying to take some heat off of criticism for her not being Native American playing that role. I'd believe the tribe over an actress in that instance!
