Hai guys, recently i bought my first kelly wallet,it was surreal having to wait nearly a year for the right colour,so happy when i got it but here comes the dilemma,
it can be so frustrating getting in and out of it.keep opening and closing the clasp..
of course i still love it but now I'm considering a silk in wallet.its easier when you are
in the supermarket...hahahhaha.but no matter what,i will still keep the kelly wallet its just that its troublesome, any of you guys encounter this problem?

I rotate 3 Silkin Longue and 1 compact daily. My Bearns don't really hold enough so need extra Calvis. My Kelly wallets are exotics and only used when I know I don't have to grab things out quickly. Mad, I know.

I am a very practical person and I have learned the hard way that sometimes you need to throw practicality out the window. There are many times I have made the practical decision rather than going with what my heart was telling me and then regretted it. If you love the orange wallet then I would keep it. If you go see the black one and decide you love it, then that's one thing, but I wouldn't get it just because it's epsom if you really love the orange. Just my two cents. :)

Hi klynneann,

Thank you for your advice. I am like you and when I purchase a bag or anything else, I tend to choose more durable and usable one instead of what I really love. So my bags/accessories are almost all dark colors in togo/epsome (and caviar for Chanel bags although I love lamb skin). I have never purchased chevre, and since my SA told me that a chevre wallet may last (in a good condition) only for a few years, I am kind of scared to buy chevre although it feels so soft and nice. It is not a cheap wallet (at least for me) and I want to use it for much longer than just a few years. Now I'm thinking to get a Kelly pochette in a near future, so maybe I'll take a black wallet and request a pochette in orange or other bright color?? I will use a wallet more frequently (every day) than a pochette, this approach is more "practical"?? :p Anyway I'll go to the shop today and take a look. Thanks again!

By all means go look at the black one if you want (it will probably help you decide), but I wouldn't bring the orange one to your SA.
I love the beautiful colors of H. I used to buy everything black, but only colors for me for my H collection. I especially enjoy looking into my bag and see all different colors of SLG 😊. So if you like orange, don't settle for black because of the leather. Kelly wallet is not that hard to get, so if you don't like chèvre, wait for orange Epsom.

Hi Kitty S.,

Thank you for your suggestion. My bags/wallets are almost all in black or other dark colors as well. I just started exploring the H world recently and have only a few bags and other small leather goods, but they are all in dark colors as I thought dark colors are more classic and timeless. But the more I get into H, the more I love all these beautiful colors that H offers. I'll visit the shop today and will decide which one to keep (I will not bring my orange wallet to the shop, as you suggested). I'm also thinking to get a Kelly pochette - is it more difficult to get than a Kelly wallet?

Yes. Kelly pochette is waaaaay more difficult to get than Kelly wallet.

Btw I agree with kitty S. Wait for orange epsom if that's what you want. Don't settle! 😉

Hi there! I have a kelly wallet which I never use despite loving the look of it. I find it a bit large, but still is somehow a treasure. I also have a silk in wallet which I used for a bit, but found that the zipper sometimes would stick so it bothered me a bit. Now I use the bearn wallet and I absolutely love it. I think sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error to find what may work best for you. I think it is tough to beat the kelly wallet in terms of beauty and style... many have said that with continued use, they get quite used to the opening and closing of it.... Best wishes!

I got my Bearn at the same time as my Kelly because I just knew I could never use my Kelly on a daily basis, but it was too pretty to pass up!

IMO the Kelly is far too cumbersome for a daily workout. I reserve my Kelly for dates out with the manfriend. We joke about how my Kelly is the wallet I carry when I don't want to pay. In the time takes for me to open it up for my CC, he's already swiped, signed, and halfway out the door!

Maybe with some practice it may become much easier to operate such heavy machinery, but I prefer my Bearn when I'm expecting a credit card cardio.

I often close the straps and then the flap over the straps. When I open the wallet (just the flap) there's enough space for me to pull out my cards or bills (I don't carry many bills though) without having to open the straps. It's been over a year and no issues with the straps stretching or the flap looking worn. Just a thought. Definitely not as convenient as the bearn I have though.

I use my Kelly wallet more as a clutch or as a small bag with the silver necklace. It is a pain to get in/out of. It is a bit easier if you put the straps under the flap and just use the turnkey to close.

Love the silks-in. I use my as my everyday wallet - holds a lot and simple to use.

was thinking silk in or bearn, silk in is more reasonable and you can chuck it and bruise it,can consider it..
