Kelly Sellier Leathers

Thanks for starting this great thread and @QuelleFromage for the great input. I would love a non-epsom sellier K25 too!
Totaly in love with a luxe leather combined with the classic sellier shape.
May I ask if scratches on sombrero will eventually blend in like Barenia or Box? Think I have seen this being asked on other threads but never really answered many thanks!

Happy to help When I ordered the Togo I expected it to be a little softer than most selliers - not like a sellier mou, but the non-mou selliers I had seen photos of look just a little relaxed. I don't see that happening with this bag! My bag is clearly really well made with the sellier reinforcement lining, so it is nice and crisp.
What size will you order do you think?

I would have expected the same thing with a Togo sellier so what a nice surprise that it's "crisp"!
As for size, most likely a 28. A 25 is very tempting though!

Do you think Hermes will introduce new sellier leathers for the Kelly in the future? While there are options besides epsom available, they are very hard to come by. I love the look of sellier kelly over retourne but I dislike epsom leather. I would love to add a Kelly to my collection but I feel like my only options are so limited.

I have a Kelly Sellier in a leather called Veau grain d' H. It was a brand new leather when I was offered it at FSH in Paris.

Scratches on sombrero don't blend as well as Box, in my opinion. I sold my sombrero for just that reason.

I LOVE grain d'H, but loathe Epsom. (I know it doesn't make sense.)

I posted this elsewhere, but here are a few pictures of my Kelly sellier in Butler leather. Size is a 25 and color is natural sable. You can see the color difference between this bag and the barenia faubourg as well.

This is good to know! I read that Sombrero scratches easily too. Do you find that to be true too? I have a Kelly in Sombrero on hold until end of the day. Now I am thinking about passing it bc I have a child.

Sombrero, like Box, is prone to scratches. However, they blend into the leather, forming a lustrous patina. The major difference between Sombrero and Box is the former is more matte, while Box has more of a sheen.

It’s pretty much Epsom only for sellier. The only way to get another leather is to be super lucky with a push offer or to SO chevre or Togo.

I have to say, though, that I’ve had an Epsom K25 since the fall and I love it. It wears so well! I avoided it for many years so this has been a really pleasant surprise. It’s been just as sturdy as my Togo and my chevre bags.

Thanks! For me it’s about the feel of the leather. It doesn’t feel nice to the touch for me and often like cardboard.
