It doesn't look beautiful when buckled up properly, what more when it's being used normally that only the turnlock is keeping it closed and sangles are dangling underneath that flap.

It kinda looks incomplete. They should've added a handle.

$15k for this bag? IMO it is not sexy, not even a bit. It's overwhelming and looks extremely uncomfortable to log and walk around with. I mean look at it, it looks like a Danish house.
You folks are two of my tpf "arbiters of taste", so this hits me.

I've wanted this bag to succeed so much. I've been looking for a bag that can be used casually, that can fit a laptop, and that carries that H aethestic. This was going to be my guy. I suppose I still want to see it in person to see whether I like it. Not at the point where I'd pay $15k for it though, and certainly not if I have to give up a "QB slot" for it.

On the point about handles for the sangles, I love my Hac a Dos, but I'm also struggling with the floppy sangles that takes relatively long to buckle and unbuckle, and therefore makes retrieving or depositing items slower than needed. I'm jealous of the B's that have that handle to hold the sangles and keep it relatively open (but not too much)

Oh. I’m hardly an arbiter of taste. I only have one H bag and it’s a Plume and not many people like it.

If you like it and it makes you happy, get it. :)

I went back to Madison Ave today to pickup a card holder I’d forgotten yesterday. While waiting, I saw 2 other people try it on (both of whom came in sporting their own Hermes bags so brand familiar, similarly say it didn't look polished and was uncomfortable to wear crossbody because of the way it falls against the body. Both of them were also men. So my very small sample of 3 all had similar feelings.

Agree if it makes you happy get it. I also have a preloved Hermes citynews messenger bag that I love - paid just under $2,500 for an all leather messenger that hits all the key point and the flap top couldn’t be easier to open/close. Very discreet , quiet luxury nearly as quiet as it gets but an awesome bag beautifully made - not a sexy Kelly type product but superbly crafted Hermes. This is also a very good example of how it is only Birkins, Constances and Kellys that really hold their value.

I can send some mod shore/photos of the citynews if you want them. I was surprised when I got it - the condition, fit and function of the bag were better than expected - black Togo leather in nearly new condition.

Mine came with a copy of the original receipt from hermes - bought in Hong Kong on 2019 fir approx $5k used so depreciated about 50% in 4 years - my gut says Kelly messenger will be similar in the market - a Kelly by family name but not a true ‘Kelly’ as in the iconic handbag who can be Prichard to both enjoy and/or as an investment

Men's bag design went downhill when H let go of Pierre Yves-Labey.

It's a good lesson to note Hermes doesn't always know what it's doing. Just coz it's H, don't make it A+.

I can't think of a fab handbag design since the late-80s for women, either that's not a close-relative variation of a much older design like the Secret (OK, no one likes it but me :D). Perhaps, only the DS, which is basically an unstructured shopping bag with reversible as it's big draw.

The KM's depth is just so wide, I don't know whether it even qualifies as a messenger. Somehow, I feel it may be too structured, or just not structured enough.
