Kelly Depeche 25

Thanks for highlighting @fonnas' post.

I've been thinking of the Kelly Depeche 25 as a clutch and shoulder bag as well!

Noticed that it's (relatively) the same size as a Mini Jypsiere, except one could switch out the strap more easily on a KD -- so that's a huge pro for me, aha.
I have both and the KD is maybe 1.5 times the size of the mini jypsiere by volume. I'll take a side by side photo when I get home. I love both, but I find the mini jypsiere is definitely a very casual weekend look; whereas the KD as a clutch can be more "business" casual. However, I totally agree, the ability to add a strap or switch out the strap with KD is a big bonus! You can basically wear it 3 ways!

So I did just order one of those sangle connector thingabobs from Etsy and I happened to see an etoupe Kelly strap on Fashionphile, so I grabbed that. I tried it out last night and it is very cute as a cross body bag. The strap is standard Kelly length so it hangs high, so I might get a longer and thicker strap to go with it. I will post mod shots when I get home.

That would be amazing, thank you!

These are the dimensions (in inches, taken from the USA store (when MJ was online last week) and converted from the CA store (since they have the KD 25)), in comparison for KD vs. Mini Jypsiere (just in case anyone else is curious), so it seems a little less depth for the KD... but I'm super curious what the size comparison actually looks like side by side. :flowers:

KD: 9.9 L x 7.6 H x 1.5 D
MJ: 9.1 L x 6.7 H x 2 D

Ok I took some pics of the KD next to the MJ. So I think the biggest difference is the height of the usable pouch area. You can see the inside front part of the MJ only goes up to about 60% of the height of the KD (most obvious in the side view in the photos.) The MJ also tapers off at the top so even if the outside dimensions make it seem similar in size to KD, the usable space is actually much less. In reality, I cannot fit nearly as much in the MJ compared with the KD. I also took some mod shots wearing it as a shoulder bag. I know some people object to the idea of adding straps to non-crossbody bags, but it does come in handy for me, and this little contraption I ordered from Etsy works great. (Search for Birkin strap connector and a few options will pop up.) I probably won’t wear it as a shoulder/crossbody bag that much, since I have other options, but it’s just kinda fun to be able to do that. The Kelly strap I got is a little too short for crossbody so I tried it with my longer Kelly pocket strap for illustrative purposes, and I think this is a good length. Although I will most likely continue to use the KD as a grab and go wristlet/clutch, as it was meant to be. :flowers:

Agree with @880. This is super informative. Didn’t realize that the mini J is so tiny!

Soooooo helpful, they're on my "what if my store gets one or the other and I need to make a decision quickly, but they don't have the other to compare IRL" list, so thank you for this!!!

Super super helpful!

Love your MJ and KD colour choices too.

(Im)patiently waiting for my Kelly Depeches 25 in Black Galop d’Hermes to arrive from hermes.com

I got lucky (or persistence paid off) this wee! After many failed attempts to get the bag on a recent Paris / Barcelona trip, I feel vindicated! Haha

Galop d’Hermes has been on the top of my list of interested leathers that are in current production. Albeit not having seen it in person yet, I have a strong feeling it will be very hearty and structured, like Ardennes or Liegée leather.
