Keepall bags... is it really practical for travel ? A keepall at the airport screams... attention

A keepall screams this bag is quality and for my intense travel I need a bag that will wear well for a long time.

And, be mindful of your surroundings and keep your belongings close by.

I use nondescript black luggage but carry my NF on the plane. One time I had a small suitcase as my Carry-On (smaller than a Keepall 50) and I was forced to gate check it. After that I’m very careful how big my carry on/purse etc is. You never know how crowded the plane is and who are taking over the overheads with their own large bags. Gate checking is not fun!

Ridiculous. You’ll see dozens and dozens of Keepalls and other Louis Vuitton bags and luggage at any international airport. Nothing extraordinary about carrying a Keepall. Also, how would carrying a Keepall in an airport different from carrying your LV handbag on the street?:rolleyes:

I agree. I actually was thinking of not getting a Keepall because it was actually too common in the airport. It seems like a lot of people have either a Keepall or Neverfull in the airport everywhere!

I was just delayed coming home from LV because a guy on my plane had one as a carry on and it was way too big for the overhead. They told him that he had to gate check it and he made a scene. Finally they told him if he was so concerned about his bag he could remain with it in Nevada and he let it go. But we ultimately were forty mins late. Brutal.

So those that do you have keepall... how often do you use it ?
It seems you are pretty focused on the keepall? You have two threads going regarding it. Asking a forum how often one uses a keepall should not determine whether you buy one or not. You need to evaluate your life and needs as far as would YOU use it enough to justify buying. Because that's what this is about right - to justify buying the keepall?? We all want to justify our purchases.

I use mine for travel all the time. I have never felt unsafe or conspicuous in an airport. I have sometimes felt at certain destinations like a snob, but I don't let that stop me. I carry that and a GM Neverfull on the plane. If I had to gate check it, I'd inwardly cringe, but I bought mine pre-owned and it's already got plenty of love marks, so I wouldn't worry too much. As for possible theft, again, I don't worry about that. Things are replaceable, so that's low on my worry list.

I have never taken my keepall on a plane due overhead space and having it out of my sight 3-4 rows back, not due to it drawing attention lol! People will steal ANY luggage left unaccompanied from a distracted traveler. Brand is pretty irrelevant. I have never felt awkward carrying my GM neverfull on a plane or through an airport though. You will be fine with your keepall.

That’s why the Keepall 45 is perfect: it fits under the seat in front of you (even in coach).

I bought my hubs the 45 graphite several Christmases ago and he always takes it with him and us on travels for personal and business and he's never had weird looks or felt threatened or anything. --- HOWEVER.... the next biz trip we are going on the reviews are terrible but we are hosting customers and it's a huge business trip that we aren't in control of. The travel agency for this company we work with picked a new place that had glowing reviews at the beginning and now the reviews are horrible. THEFT being the major issue. One security guard for the whole resort. ANYWAY . . . I told hubs there is NO way he is taking his graphite. When we check in we are not going to stick out as "rob me." Because this theft that's going on has to be an inside job. I am not even taking any jewelry other than what I wear. I am not even letting the maid in AND I feel like doing the whole 'home alone' traps everywhere. Hubs cracked up and he's like, are you bringing christmas ornaments? HAHA I just might.

I have a Keepall 55 Bandouliere and have used it for both plane and car travel. With that said I’ll never use it in a plan again. It got too heavy and walking through the terminal/cramped plane aisles... I was miserable until I was able to stow it in the overhead bin. Traveling by car on the other hand no issues. You might consider the Macassar, you still get the monogram but with black leather, still grabs attention, but less... lol
