Keepall bags... is it really practical for travel ? A keepall at the airport screams... attention

Definitely practical, it is a duffle bag afterall. They are very common (real & fake) so no one bats an eye. I wouldn't personally go over 50 for a carry on. You can usually get the keepall pre-LVoed in varying conditions from really beat up to like new. I have the 45 bandouliere.

Thieves don't care in the least if you're carrying a keepall or a bag from L.L. Bean. They are targeting people who are careless with their things, inattentive, distracted, etc. They're going to seize their first opportunity to steal something, not try and wait around and create an opportunity with a specific person or bag.

If carrying a keepall is going to make you nervous and consequently act nervous, then in that case it wouldn't be wise.

I think you should get one if you’re lusting after it. It will only go up in price and you have a lifetime to put it in use! Even if you don’t use it for long travel because you’re concerned with safety you can always use it for domestic or overnight stays.

I had one for many months and every time I travelled I ended up taking another carry on. For me it´s very impractical travel bag. It´s quite heavy itself and uncomfortable carrying. For road trips perfect but I wouldn't take it for flying again. Ended up selling it.

I'll be more concerned with the bag getting ruined than theft if you're taking it as a handcarry and won't lose your sight. There's a thread here wherein one poster was forced to check in her Keepal and it came out of the conveyor with a big hole.

I love my 50! I’m a light packer so for short weekend trips it’s the perfect bag. For longer trips I never check in and just use a basic trolley as there have been issues with our airport/airline personnel stealing/ripping and stealing contents from designer suitcases. Everyone is right though, you see LV luggage everywhere when you travel. :)

I travel regularly and use my size 50 Keepall almost exclusively whether it's car or plane travel. I'm a light packer and can pack for up to a week in it and has never had an issue or felt uncomfortable using it in any location. LV has always been a travel brand, that's what these bags are for. My husband has a 45 he uses almost as much as I use mine and he loves his too. Plus they're super light so the weight of the bag itself doesn't eat into your carry on weight allowance!

Do you girl. I use my Monogram GM as my personal item no matter where I'm flying and I fly every month, and internationally every few months. Just be aware of your surroundings and carry it with confidence. You'll be just fine. Good luck!
