Without knowing all the details, I kind of feel bad for him. My dad had a tough time fighting for custody of my little (half) brother in the state of CA. The courts practically make it up to the Mom to dictate, at least they did back then. If what he says is true, I feel bad it turned out this way. Yes, a father should never give up, but there is a lot that is out of their control.. especially if a mom wants to get in the way..

Again, I have no idea what really happened, but if he did try, but failed accomplish proper visits, it's a really sad ending.

I read he was an unapologetic absentee father when the kids were little. Goldie has her share of blame but I think she was protecting the kids.

Whatever he did caused bitterness, and in as much as I think Oliver's tweet was childish, there's some hurt there that has deep roots.

Bill being upset about them calling Kurt "Dad"?. Well, ya know guy, if you had have made more effort, it may not have happened.

Bill is trying to re-write history IMO and make a buck off it.

Seriously thinking he is about to bring out a memoir or something. Take the high road esp when others dont. Saying they cant have his name and etc is wrong. A child is your child always. Being hurt is understandable but this is wrong.

Meanwhile, no doubt Kate needed the support of her friend after her father, Bill Hudson, Goldie Hawn's ex, publicly disowned her and her brother, Oliver.
In a searingly raw interview with The Mail on Sunday last night, Bill, veering between tears of sadness and flashes of anger, vowed to ‘break all ties’ with his eldest children.

He believes Goldie has turned them against him, as he recalls the time Oliver posted a picture of the three of them together, writing: 'Happy abandonment day.'
‘I say to them now, ‘“I set you free,” he pronounced, his voice breaking. ‘I had five birth children but I now consider myself a father of three. I no longer recognise Oliver and Kate as my own.

I believe him that Goldie wanted him out of the way and convinced the kids that he had abandoned them. Gold is very rich and powerful and he probably could have never gotten the custody of his kids that he wanted, against her expensive lawyers. I believe our laws are constantly stacked in favor of people with wealth.

Bill has had to hear about his supposed abandonment of his kids for 30+ years and he finally hit his limit. What Oliver did was cruel and immature but he and Kate probably believe every lie that Goldie hand fed them.

Not liking the father right now.


While I wouldn't put it past Goldie to go about spouting lies and I think Oliver's post was extremely immature (whatever happened to calling people on the phone? He's too old to be posting that sh*t on Instagram.), I think the father is the one in the wrong here. He seems too harsh and direct.......in my lifetime, my dad had seen several stupid internet/facebook posts, and seen me post a hurtful thing or something like that, and he would never publicly disown me.............to announce that you want nothing to do with your children after seeing a facebook post (even a very serious post) is wrong in my opinion. He could have posted that he is very angry and doesn't know if he will ever forgive Oliver and that what his children are saying is incorrect, but instead he chooses to post that he is disowning them?? Wrong, in my book.

I remember hearing years ago, like 20 years ago or more, how Bill Hudson essentially abandoned his kids and had no relationship with them after they were a certain age.
Stuff like that is very painful and it stays with you the rest of your life. And although it's easy to say take the high road, things like Father's Day can trigger painful feelings.
It was Bill Hudson's responsibility to make sure that he stayed in his children's lives when they were younger. Maybe they would feel differently about him now if he had.
