Jypsiere 28 or Bolide 31

I started with the bolide first and it's still one of my most loved bags. Fits so much and is very classic. But I recently got the jypsiere and I really love it too! I think it comes down to whether you prefer the option to sling or not. I don't think you can comfortably sling the bolide.

Jypsiere is a Jean-Paul Gaultier design too!

A smallish bag for day-to-day and also for travel might not be an easy combination.
Which way will you use it most?

Just wondering @Sourisbrune if you kept the jypsiere or exchanged? I just received a Bolide 31 and am having the reverse problem -- should I keep it or exchange for a Jypsy 28?? Any insight would be appreciated!

I ended up returning the Jypsiere and I purchased a Chanel Single Flap Classic Jumbo. I love it.
But, now I'm thinking about the "under the radar" Jypsiere and the Bolide, again. What did you decide?

Since I posted that, I returned the bolide, bought a kelly 28 (barely used, from an acquaintance), sold the kelly (it just wasn't the right color for me, but now I'm kinda kicking myself since they're soooo hard to get), bought a lindy, exchanged lindy for jyspiere, returned jypsiere (too heavy, too small, price made me cringe). Bought an ultraviolet Victoria. Kept the victoria! (hooray!!) And I just got myself a stunning classic gold bolide (with gold hardware).

My hermes experience has been a roller coaster so far (seriously, I think I need help?? LOL!), but there is definitely magic in these bags I haven't found elsewhere!

Hi everyone I'm restarting this thread because I appreciated reading all your posts especially @michelle217's on her "roller-coaster" experience with H bags and felt omg that could be totally me! I bought a pre-loved K32 in November, sold it, bought a Bolide 27 (thought it was a HG bag) then sold it this weekend and now I have a Bolide 31 that I'm hoping I will keep for a while because I lose a lot reselling wise.

@michelle217 Just wondering if you still have the Bolide 31 and what your thoughts are.

I also appreciated everyone's comments on the overall aesthetic of the Bolide. I think it can be a bit polarising. Some of my friends love it some hate it. Most oddly like the lindy but I have not much love for it.

Anyway I'm hoping to use the Bolide 31 as my work horse bag and that's it just get mini bags from now on... Hopefully....

LOL, glad to know I'm not alone in the struggle! Due to sticker shock, I ended up returning the gold/gold Bolide 31 last year, but couldn't get it out of my mind so I have just repurchased the exact same bag and am keeping it this time. I love this bag, I love it's history and I love its looks, and it will be my workhorse too. I struggled with whether or not I wanted to get a Birkin 30 instead (and build up that SA relationship), but decided that with my lifestyle, a Bolide makes much more sense at this time. I need to share it on the Ode to the Bolide thread.

This is a forever bag for me, along with my Chanel jumbo. Hope you feel the same!

I think the Bolide is a beautiful bag! It's under the radar and classic!

Omg. Sticker shock yes. After buying the Bolide 31 I struggled for a few days thinking of I should sell it. Stressed out. Not sure if I should have spent so much money on this strange looking bag.... My husband thinks it looks "ok", but my father, who never comments on my bags and has very often told me to stop buying bags, said "wow looks so nice." Haha

Why do H bags do this to us!?!?

Yes, I could have gotten a cheaper "work" bag from Givenchy or YSL.... But H quality is incomparable. I like the way it feels. So I guess I will keep it for a while and see how it goes!!! I don't know why. It is like those ugly duckling type of bags. Like beautiful sometimes but not everyone's cup of tea and I've been yearning for a bolide since last year (just looking at my pinterest board). So I think I needed to buy it to get it out of my system.

Yes please share your bolide in your ode to bolide thread!! I just shared my rouge grenat one! [emoji8]

May I know why you returned the lindy? I'm trying to decide if I should have chosen a lindy instead of a bolide....

Because I already had (have) an LV Sofia Coppola, and I found them too similar to have both.
The Lindy was stunning and very comfortable, though.

So.... Just a month after I got my bolide... This happened....

Love them both!!! Must say the lindy is alot lighter and easier to carry than my Bo31 but the Bo31 definitely packs alot more things and looks amazing when it is full. Compared to the l26 that looks better when it is slouchy.

Bo31 for travel or busy days and L26 for everyday! That's how I'm seeing it right now!

Wow! It been two years! So are you still happy with your choices? I think I still want a Jypsiere, or I’m in love with the thought of getting one.

Prefer the jypsiere. I like the birkin hardware and the sling across body option. I need a style each in Hermes. Handcarry, shoulder, and across.
Here's my jyp 28.
