Hi-
To make a long story short, I had a leather allergy that is now under control and I am ecstatic!
I'm celebrating by renewing my Hermes collection. Jypsiere or Bolide?
I am torn between the two bags. I love the look of both, I don't mind the complication of a zipper or the straps to access my items and I lead a casual lifestyle- errands, middle school mom, travel to SoCal (3-4x per year for fun), NY and sometimes Europe and Canada. I wear denims, driving moccasins and have invested in some great (plain) sweaters.
I carry very little- card envelope, tiny coin purse, reading glasses, keys and cell phone.
I'm asking myself- do I like the Jypsiere because of its look (casual messenger w/ -a hint of pallidium). And, do I like the Bolide because of its look, reinforced base and great travel use. The Jypsiere's negatives- I don't like the wear and tear on the hole when the flap is lifted or the thought of it eventually sagging on the bottom. Bolide's negatives- thinner shoulder strap comfort (?) and the "Dooney and Burke" vibe.
Please tell me which you prefer and if you want to, tell me why.
Thank you!

I personally like the Jypsiere better - I like the messenger style and the strap is very comfortable. I find it fairly easy to get in and out of when I'm out running errands but also like that I can secure it when in a crowded area or on the subway. I even carry a small laptop in mine and while the bottom has softened, it hasn't sagged a lot.

I think it depends on what you need to carry and how the bag feels on you.

Both are great bags but it depends on how you want to use the bag. The bolide has the option of day to night, but the jyp is a bit more casual. Have you tried them both on? While I love the look of a jyp, I can not manage the weight of it, so for me... I would have to go with the bolide. I think you can't go wrong with either and perhaps it might just be a matter of which one FIRST :) As a fellow allergy sufferer, I hope you continue to have your allergies under good control!! Best wishes!

I own both, I picture you with a jypsiere. It's very casual chic. Bolide is more like a kelly. Love my bolide. Very under radar. Love the silhouette. They are both great bags. Though I think jyp will work best for you at the moment. So my vote is jyp!!!

They are very different bags - the J is very casual even if you carry it with a shortened strap. I found the Bolide to be very lady-like. I *love* that shape/style but I felt it was too 'grown-up' when I tried it out. For my wardrobe, I will reconsider the Bolide in another decade or so, perhaps.

I had to smile when I saw your response, because I agree with your thoughts. Bolide seems more mature and Jypsiere seems more "today".
I am a non-embarrassing (when it comes to my taste in clothes, hair and accessories according to my teenage daughter) younger looking 50 year old. I am trying to channel my inner 50 year old Halle Berry, Salma Hayak, Julianna Margulies, Cindy Crawford (I wish!), and look current w/o appearing trendy. I think both bags do this at my age.
Bolide looks great on women of all ages, and I can picture still wearing it at 60, while by 60, my Jypsiere would probably go to my daughter.

I saw an older non-matronly woman (late 50s?) carrying a neutral J with jeans and parka, and it looked great on her. I think my bleu paon J may not work on me beyond a certain age but the neutral did work really well on her.

The Bolide - it's so beautiful in it's simplicity and elegance, I wish it looked better on me than it did. Too lady-like, like I was borrowing my moms bag.

Cross and shoulder strap contraption J28. The cross is great over a winter coat, straight strap in summer as i find it dresses up my uber-casual summer clothes.

Thank you for even more modeling shots. The colors of your Jyp and "Nadineluv"'s bags are beautiful. I'm leaning towards the Jyp, and saving my pennies for a Bolide. It's going to be difficult.
I also like LV bags (a little more trendy and the price point is good on most bags), and the Sp/S '17 lineup is fun.
I'll have to behave for a few months. Yikes! I've heard of Ban Island, but I didn't know I would ever take up residence there after the Jyp or Bolide. Self exiled!
