Back then, we didn't know much about Hermes so we decided to pay a visit there. As we were approaching the store, we saw a very nice bag in the window display.

In fact, my husband got very interested and we went into the store and asked the SA if we could take a look at the bag in the window. The SA hesistated a bit and asked his manager whether the bag was for sale or not. Then his manager gave him permission and the SA showed us the bag. I totally fell in love when I held it on my hand and didn't want to let it go until the SA told us the price. As I was preparing to say good bye to this beauty, my husband asked me "will you use this bag if I buy it?" I literally yelled out "hell yea" (oh dear, please excuse my inelegant behavior ). We went home happily on that day with an Oragne 28cm Kelly.

A year later, we went to Japan to see my friend (my husband didn't know that I was planning to do window shopping in the Hermes stores as well)! :graucho: We went to couple of Hermes stores but didn't buy anything. On the third day of our trip, my husband was begging me to not go to a Hermes store because he got bored already. I told him that this would the last one on our schedule so he gave me a green light to go. My mission was to see and possibly touch a BJ Birkin because it would be nearly impossible to spot one at where I live.

We went into the store but didn't see what I was looking for. As my husband was pulling me out of the store, a very nice SA approached us and asked what were we looking for. I politely asked her with my broken Japanese "do you have more Birkins with another colors?" She smiled and went into the backroom after I told her which color. After a few minutes, she really came out with a Blue Jean 30cm Birkin! I was super thrilled and again didn't put it down. At first, my husband gave me a No No face when I looked at him with a sad puppy face. But after a few minutes of discussion, we walked out with a big orange shopping bag!

These are my happy shopping experiences with Hermes and hoping more to come! :yahoo:

Thank you luvspa & all the other lucky ladies who found their birkins of the shelf, for sharing your story..Though rare it can still happen & this gives hope to all those who are hoping to get their own.. :smile1:

Here is my story, not exactly off the shelf but here goes.

I have purchased most of my H stuff from re-sellers or ebay so I do not have a great relationship with a store here in Oz and getting a Birkin here is not easy.

I got a contact SA through the tPF at a store in the US where I bought a few scarves and bracelets and I emailed her one day and said that I was saving for a Birkin and if one day I had the funds could I put a request through her and she said yes.

So, I ended up getting the money together and about 2 years ago the Australian dollar joined the US dollar on par so I called this lady and said could I pre-pay for the Birkin as our dollar was so good against the US dollar, she said that you could not pay for somthing that wasn't there but she said that I could buy a gift voucher at the store and that would be valid for eons. So I said to her, great can I buy a gift voucher for $10,000, no problems.

Then I get an email, three weeks later, yes, three weeks!! The store had ordered the exact combo I wanted (not for a client, just for the store) and it arrived so it was offered to me. So I got my black togo B with PHW and had some extra spending money for a Karo and I also bought a bracelet which I added some $ for.

Unfortunately, this lovely lady moved on from the store but she was my H fairy!

There were two birkins and one kelly on the shelf when I walked in to the store.
I was so shock and could not believe my eyes because prior my visit, my sister had gone to there several times to check out if they have any Birkin or Kelly.
I was so so lucky and I took one with me home but so regret that I should take another croc one.
I am really in love with my birkin, although the colour is not my first choice.
It is still such a beauty.

It was couple of years ago when I attended my sis Graduation in London, lucky I can squeeze a little bit of time before all the hustle and bustle of the big event for her.
I was talking on the phone with my friend just chit chatting that I saw a Cafe Kelly 40 in clemence at the Royal Exchange store and they are nice enough to hold for me until the end of the day, so I need some guidance and a support group to convince myself I DON'T need it.........
after that I went to Selfridges and there's a nice Sac Despeche 27 in Vert Cru Swift on the shelf, it's was a K stamp bag and i think it had been there forever.........and I'm still on the phone and begging my friend to tell me I DON"T Need that.........
10 mins later, I told my friend "OMG, I REALLY HAVE TO GO NOW, I SAW SOMETHING I SHOULDN"T HAVE........" I literally throw my phone into my bag and bravely walk-in the Bond Street store..........
and the Craie Denim Shadow Birkin 40 came home with me........
I still stabbing my thigh all the time that I didn't get the Ostrich KP in Bleu De Malte they have it on display too!!! Also there's another one in Bouganvillea..........oh boy they have good stocks that day!!!!

- Paris (grenelle store, it's a Temp) 28 Swift Orange Kelly
- NYC Madison 25 Swift Parchmin B
- Tokyo Takashimaya 25 Epsom Gold B
- HKG Peninsula JPG B in Poussiere
- HKG Central Galleria Shoulder Kelly Fringed in "off white" Doublis.....(that's the reason why still sitting there)
And these all just happen 2 years ago..........now it's became an impossible site unless they marked display only

December 2009 at the FSH store, the entire store had full stock of Kellys all over the store, they just had a shipment in and the store was not crowded either. Some friends went there a week later and they had Birkins all over the store. Those were the good old days....

I've been living in Paris for about 4 months now and every couple of weeks, I've visited the Hermes store on Fauborg St Honore asking them when will they be taking names to order for the Birkins bag. As of now, March 3, 2012 they are not taking any names due to management decisions. It has been very frustrating as I would like to get the 35 cm Birkins in Etaupe color. Would anybody have any suggestions ? I thought I would have a better chance of getting a Birkins by living in Paris.

Hi there, I visited the hermes store at FSH just before christmas last year and they told me the list is closed and they are expecting it to open in march 2012. Now that it's march and you said they are still not taking in any order...I was hoping to go to paris and get my bag ordered then

i've seen in 2009 and 2010 on the shelves

1. olive green color 35 birkin at wall street
2. black with pallidum 30 at Bellagio H (before the reopening)
3. tabac camel 30 at Bellagio H (before reopening)
4. Blue de prusse shoulder B at Bev Hills
5. Orange 35 birkin with Gold hardware at Bev Hills
6. Etoupe 40 birkin with Gold hardware at Bevhills
6. Black with gold hardware 35 birkin at SCP
7. Blue Jean 30 with pallidum at BH (took this one home with me :) )
8. Bougenvilla shoulder B at Wynn H
9. Chocolate Birkin 35 with gold at Wynn H
10. White Birkin 35 at Madison

Those were the ones I remmeber. Gosh I wish I had gotten at least 3 of these!

I so wish time could turn back..last time I went to FSH...it's all empty....so sad...

I had never shopped there before, but went in to look at scarves, ended up choosing a couple, and the SA working with me ASKED me if there was any bag I was looking for. He said that they had gotten some things just in and a few were very special.
I told him about the etoupe crinoline 35 birkin that I was lusting over, having seen a 30 in Japan, and he said that they had just gotten one in! That the manager for the store had ordered it three years previously FOR the store (not for a particular individual).
I couldn't believe it and walked out with that bag, which might just be my very favorite Hermes bag, ever. And this was my first encounter with that boutique. A truly amazing day.

Thanks costa! I know you have one of these, too (great minds think alike LOL) :p
Although I have quite a few really special bags and feel lucky to have them, I still think the crinoline from 2009 is my very favorite. That day was also probably the most amazing Hermes experience I have ever had as well, especially since it came so much out of the blue and in a boutique with which I had absolutely no history.
