I am so excited! I had a jumbo Beige Claire with SHW. But, I have realized that most of the outfits that I like Beige Claire with tend to be with gold jewelry. And, I kept looking at all of the beautiful Beige Claire GHW reveals on this board....soooo, I decided to take it to the boutique to have the hardware changed. At first, they said that Chanel does not do this....but apparantly now they will....took it in and they changed the silver hardware to gold. :yahoo::yahoo:. Just had to share my excitement! :p

I know.....that is what I had been told before also.....but I had an issue with a loose stitch on the bag and when I went to have it repaired, I asked again...and they did it!! It looks fabulous. Just like it has always been that way. But, yes, the stamp inside is still silver.

Well that's great to know! No sense in waiting for a bag to come out in a particular HW if you can change it for a mere $120.

Somehow I feel you got lucky and they will still tell people no they don't do it. :laugh:

Really? Since when they will change hardware? How much do they charge?? Do you have receipt? I can't believe it. So you have a bag with "chanel made in italy/france" stamped in silver but your hardware is gold?? DO you have better pics that will enlarge. The one here is so small.

WOW. That really surprises me given all the *new* restrictions the company has been issuing lately, but if this is true across the board, then HURRAH! Chanel. Now, if only they'd agree to change the strap on my messenger bag from wide leather to a chain...

OP, can we have more details please? Which boutique, how long did it take and can we have more pictures?

They only charged $120...which I am still amazed by! What do you mean by receipt? For the original bag? No, I did not have it, but I took the bag back to the same boutique that I bought it from so they have records (although they did not need them...they know me and remember the purchase).

I was worried about the silver stamp on a bag with gold hardware....but it really looks totally fine. You would never notice it if not looking for this and even then it looks just fine. I can't get over what a great job they did...it really does look like it has always been this way.
