Just got Vanity PM this afternoon

Yay I'm glad you finally got yours. Great review and points on the bag. I agree with your thoughts - even though I haven't had a chance to take mine out. I too got the samorga organizer and I"m glad I did because the bag/canvas is quite soft so could sag for sure.

Yes, I did! I have been checking online here and there (not actively stalking) and one night it just happened to be available! I was never really sure my in store order was secure (or if LV would eventually cancel it because of store closures) and didn’t want to take a chance, so I decided to suck it up drop more $ to buy another one.
Now just to wait for the store to reopen so my CA can refund me the store order!

I didn’t want to start a new Vanity PM thread so I thought I’d just resurrect this one with my photos.

first, I want to address the top sag when holding by the top handle - it’s noticeable, but not as bad IRL as I thought. I think it helps that on my bag, the black piping remains straight and flat and doesn’t sag, so it looks better. The bag is really nice when worn by the strap, so even though I’d really wanted to use this as a top handle bag from time to time, realistically I think it’ll be worn on the shoulder most of the time.

I was worried about the handle stretching the top canvas over time. I think it could still happen if the bag is loaded heavily and carried by top handle but there is actually a thicker piece of leather inside reinforcing the handle.

I actually bought a Samorga organizer before I had the bag in my possession. It’s a pretty good fit but I’d like to have the organizer push out the sides a little more.

without an organizer I can fit my mini Pochette inside, along with a Vernis Pochette cles, Zoe wallet, phone, gum, odd tubes of stuff, work ID, mirror and sunglasses on top of everything. The bag feels really dense when packed like this though and isn’t comfortable to carry.

with the organizer I have to take out the mini Pochette. This works better because there’s a bit extra room for some other thing (small Kirigami maybe?) and the bag feels more reasonable weight wise.

The chain is beautiful but too short for crossbody for me. If absolutely necessary it’s doable but looks ridiculous. It’s not very comfy crossbody, the strap digs in a bit and I would prefer to wear on the shoulder. It sits very nicely without sliding off (common problem for me with shoulder bags)

I was looking in the stalking thread for the early April time frame and it was available on multiple days, sometimes multiple times a day during the week I got mine. I've also been stalking store stock for it too, and I noticed that it was available in Australia a few times as well. So they are definitely coming... I am thinking this bag is going to be like the reverse Cannes, when it first got released no one knew whether it was limited or permanent, but over time as the supply caught up to demand, it eventually became readily available.

the gold chain from my Square bag looks like a nice decoration for the Vanity but much too short to be practical.

The other strap comparison is Nano Speedy (perfect length for me) vs Vanity chain. Because of where the strap attaches to the Vanity, even though the strap is 42”, the drop to the top of the bag (excluding handle) is only 19” (vs 21”). To the top of the handle is only 15”!

It definitely fits the mini Pochette. I just wouldn’t use a mini Pochette in it if I use the Samorga organizer.

I just got this so I haven’t had a chance to wear it, likely won’t be able to wear it and give a fair review until things return to normal.

Thanks! It’s definitely not the most practical bag because it’s a strictly hand/arm carry bag for me. The strap isn’t very practical since the bag sits a bit funny when worn on the shoulder. It’s such a fun bag though and so unique.

OMG karman! I’m dying. Stop it already with all the gorgeous mini bags! I love mini bags. They are all amazing, esp the box square one in reverse? What’s that one called? And the nano Dora is gorgeous too. Not to mention the vanity pm, and the other nanos. Which one is your favourite? Are they all practical to some degree? You wouldn’t have the mini boite chapeau in your collection as well would you?? I’ve been eyeing that one and the vanity pm for a while. Do you enjoy the vanity pm? Hey Bumbles, answers to your questions :
- The square one is literally called the Square Bag. I think it was part of... the SS2018 collection? Maybe FW2018? I got it last year preloved on eBay.
- Favourite... really hard to choose because they're all kind of different. Overall in terms of versatility, ease of use and capacity though I think I'd choose the Nano Speedy.
- I don't have any of the Boite Chapeaus in my collection. I did look at the Petite Boite Chapeau (hard sided) and that's really the only one I like from the Boite Chapeau line up - didn't buy though because while it's a hard sided piece, it was just too $$. Probably would've jumped on it if it could fit more (it barrrrrely fits an iPhone). The mini ones are too small for me, I don't buy bags that can't fit a cell phone!
- Can't really say on the Vanity PM yet since I haven't had the chance to wear it, just played around with at home. I LOVE top handle bags, so it's definitely not awkward for me.
