Thats why go for classic styles. Trendy jewelry always comes and goes. Ive seen tennis necklaces around. I wish i can afford it lol.
I used to bead necklaces but the pandemic made me reluctant to go to trade shows to get beads. However, I pop into blogs and suchlike and found a curious thing that I've often wondered about: whether faux "gems" or crystals can substitute for the real thing. I like pinky rings so I bought a couple of small marquise CZ stones, one in orange and other in aqua. Had jeweler set them in gold, a very simple setting. I looked at them and thought that they really were indistinguishable from, say, a real aquamarine or citrine. In in the opinion of the blog poster (who also made jewelry) that faux stones can pass for real. I think the key is a simple gold setting, not ornate like some costume jewelry.

I bought a citrine ring years ago which had a rather brownish stone. I liked the setting but the stone was kinda blah. After a while I asked the jeweler if he could swap stones. He wound up putting in a sparkly pink CZ of size which was custom cut to fit the setting. I get compliments on that ring and CZs are fun to wear especially when they sparkle.

I agree that paperclip necklaces are fashionable. The modern ones are heavier than the antique ones which tend to be rather delicate extended ovals. The modern ones have more substance than the delicate ones from the turn of the 19th century. @880 I love your photos of your paperclip chain in your post #33. David Yurman has them in silver and I hope to get one b/c yours looks so great (I am big on silver).

I now wear my Apple Watch and hardly ever my Rolex. My signature piece for years was a very heavy vintage Tiffany 18K box link chain with an authentic Alexander the Great coin. Now everyone is wearing this type of ‘amulet’ I have switched to my VCA Zodiac pendant on a fine chain. Always swimming against the tide. I hate trend, but now everyone is wearing Zodiac.

Theres this ear cuff ive been seeing lately. I wonder how you can keep it on without it getting loose? And why are high wnd jewelrs like bvlgari selling single earring? Is this meant for males?

Have you tried putting rings in a couple of your fingers? I do stack a solitaire and a trinity ring but it should be on my middle finger. I tried putting one on my index finger and i always bump it into something. And no ring fits my pinky lol. Its always been one finger either the middle or the ring finger but never on 2 or more fingers
I can wear 4 rings at a pop b/c my rings aren't really massive. I tend to get tiny rings for the pinky but size them so they are tight (but not painful). H makes some signet rings and those look nice on. Think about visiting a jeweler who's good on sizing. Maybe that person will suggest how to array the rings on your hand. It can be hard to determine on your own which rings go best on certain fingers.

My pinky ring is too small that i doubt id find rings that can fit it. Index ring would be nice but im sure itll end up all scratched

Good thread!
In my area, it’s the ‘minimal’ look; especially pertaining to necklaces. I’m seeing 1 or perhaps 2 necklaces, 1. Nice diamond pendant 1-2 carats, and 2. necklace longer with a nice pendant, 3. wedding rings, 4. hoop or diamond studs and maybe a bracelet.
Me, I just wear what I want, don’t really follow nor care about trends.

Thought I might chime in here as a guy.

For me personally, it’s all about the rings (1 on left middle, 1 on right index & 1 on right ring).

For my hands/ wrists, I would tend to wear my watch on left but haven’t cause nyc… I have gotten a custom bracelet from local nyc jeweler which are one super dainty gold chain in each color that are together on one clasp. and only have my 2 Trinity Cord on right that honestly just look like hairbands so feel safe with that.

Then, on neck, it’s just a simple tri-gold chain from Cartier that’s adjustable for different necklines (especially this summer with button down shirts when going out to casual events). Sometimes, I’ll take that chain off and put on my silver DY chain along with one of my pendants from an Etsy shop in a fun stone dependent on outfit (malachite, lapis lazuli, MOP, or tiger eye). No earrings on my end.

As for what I see on my friends/ colleagues/ around in nyc for men, chains are definitely are still in especially with pendants reaching at around the collar bone. I’ve definitely seen lots of thicker rings - usually 1 on one hand and 2 on other.

That's exactly how I wear my rings. My Cartier Trinity on the left middle finger, the Cartier JUC (small) on my right index finger, and the Cartier Love on the right ring finger.

I'm seeing:
* Hair jewelry, such as decorative hair pins
* Stacks of bracelets on the watch hand
* Huggie earrings, often worn with drop charms
* Floral pieces, or pieces depicting nature
* Enamel is back
* Oddly enough, cute gummy bear charms seem to be a thing
