Hi ladies, I have a tricky question. Last week, I went to the gym. I didn't bother putting on my jewelry before going, but I packed it. After my shower, I found my bracelets and only one earring, so I figured I had missed the second one while packing. However, back home, I couldn't find it.
Now, this is a discontinued Tiffany pair, my all-time favorite, and I wear it so much that when I lost one earring a few years ago, I tracked a second pair. So I had 3, which means I'm down to a complete pair with no back-up.
3 days later, I went back to the gym, asked about it, and the front desk girl told me they had found my earring! She went to get it, and came saying that actually, she put it in her pocket to bring to the office and forgot about it. And washed her pants. She went through all her laundry, washer, hamper... and couldn't find my earring. She left me a message, and asked me to tell if there is anything they can do to replace it.
I'm kind of conflicted. I did lost it in the first place, but they found it. And I still have a pair, but I was quite glad to have a backup. And I looked on ebay, the pair is sold around $250 to $300. So I'm wondering if it would be a mistake to just drop the whole thing. Well, actually, I wouldn't have spent so much time thinking about it if she had told me nobody found it!
I would drop it. Like you said, you lost it in the first place. You have a pair & a spare in case you lose another one.
