OMG...you too??!!!!

I'm exhausted.....& yet, I'm supposed to have had a "restful" and fun weekend!!!

Thank goodness I have tomorrow OFF!

No rest for the wicked, right Frick & Frack???!
^hehehe  this weekend I have 2 parties on saturday & my niece's baptism on sunday  (next weekend I have a wedding & 2 parties)

fell asleep on the couch last night around 8pm...lol!!! woke up around 11pm, stayed up til 1am, got up this morning at 8am. 'tis the season! ;)

Contessa and F&F are PARTY ANIMALS!!!!
^:rochard:

oh, did I mention my parents are moving this month? so I'm helping my mom pack too??? :wtf:

So I see your schedule is fairly light this month??!!!!

I just moved twice this year.......2 houses into 1! I don't recommend it......AND if I move again I will hire some hot, young men.....(one must resemble Bon Jovi) while I sit there & "observe" :graucho:

The only boxes I plan on unpacking in the near future are small "jewelry-like" ones :p

^this month might actually be the end of me...

however, I have gotten some nice family heirlooms (lace, linens, china, crystal, silver, pottery) while helping my mom pack. saturday I got a tablecloth & napkins that were my great great grandmother's

^ packing is crazy.....& tops the stress list for sure.

It IS nice to go through old heirlooms though....and all the memories they stir up.

Just thinking about what you have ahead of you F & F, I'm already exhausted!!!

^oh, me too!

do you make your own egg nog? I never have from scratch, but long time family friends do (their party is this saturday). I'm thinking about trying to make it from scratch myself this year...

Nope....I've made my own hot cocoa from scratch. Being from Europe, what my Grandmother used to do is take 1 raw egg yolk and mix it w/ a spoon by hand w/ sugar until it was light and creamy. Then she would add pure cocoa powder and hot milk......deeelish!

I suppose Egg Nog would be similar.....only add vodka instead of cocoa/milk......& a dash of nutmeg!- or cocoa I suppose.

At least you'll know what's IN it.......! There's nothing that beats home-made........She used to make her own sour cherry "spirit".....from 100% proof "spiritus"......pure sour cherry juice (that was simmered and sweetened for a few days) w/ pure alcohol...NO water......Oh my......that would warm you up on a cold day!!! ;)

^it's not vodka...it's bourbon whiskey in egg nog! http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/eggnog-recipe2/index.html

I've never heard of adding egg to hot chocolate. my mom used to make it from scratch...she melted chocolate & whisked in hot milk.

I hesitate to make egg nog because you have to whip the egg whites, & I've seen a recipe that calls for whipped cream too...that's a LOT of work  http://www.eggnogrecipe.net/traditional-eggnog-recipe.html  ...but...it tastes SO GOOD when it's homemade. I think our family friends only whip the egg whites, not the cream.

I have a good question for this thread...do you match the colors of your gemstones in your fine jewelry to the outfit that you're wearing? & if I do, does that mean I need professional help? :p

Y'all are making me some sort of warm drink, I'll take either eggnog OR hot chocolate!

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE eggnog latte's at Starbucks? LOVE!

I'm transitioning from working in an office to full time from home, and today is the first day I got somewhere with my packing. Yay!

Whiskey's great too! I keep that in the bottom of my night stand drawer!!!! :D

To answer your "jewelry" question......YES!!! If you have a large enough collection to indulge in that luxury of matching gems to your outfits, why not??!!!

Does that mean I need a pair of ruby/diamond earrings to go w/ my red roses blouse?? :graucho:
