You got it. I know that when I looked at it, opposite from you, I thought that the leather, both bag and rolled handles, screamed Tano but the lack of hardware threw me. It was as if it was their materials but someone else's design -- which it sort of turned out to be.

Frankly, I'm surprised to see a celebrity dragging around a bag from 8 seasons ago.

Maybe Anthro gave them some obscure, expensive bag and said "make this for us and put our label in it." Tano did that type of "private label" work for companies like bebe, anthropologie, arden B, etc when they first got started under the new ownership 4 years ago. Now they only do private label for Barneys NY (but as of this Spring even Barney's bags will say "Tano for Barney's" or just "Tano").

They're moving up. New accessories designers have to shove their collective feet in the door somehow.

I have the answer!! This is NOT a Tano bag :nogood:

This is a bag from Minority

There is a 'scaly leather' Minority bag that is similar available on Lux Couture right now. Sari (owner of Lux Couture) may know more about this brand. It is hard to find info on them online. I am searching though!!!

So no, this is NOT a Tano bag!

sorry I don't think the bag you suggested resembles Jessica's at all. the material doesn't look the same, dosen't have the same rolled handles or the same shape . the one you suggested has a much more triangular shape while Jessica's is very square. I don't think its a similar style at all. the minority also has a lot of hardware while Jessica's dose not. but the material says no the most. the minority is a snake skin but Jessica's bag is absolutely not her looks more like vintage leather.

good find though the minority is a great wine color.

^ No, I did not say it is the same bag, I said it is the brand Minority. The exact bag Jessica has is not the one at Lux Couture, but it is a Minority bag.

I will have Sari from Lux Couture ask the designer of Minority for more info on the exact bag Jessica has- but it is a Minority bag.

If its a recent bag by "Minority" (Never heard of them, but apparently they retail for around $1,000) that would make more sense than a 4 year old Anthropologie bag that was manufactured by Tano. After all, she's rich and famous :)

Tano apparently made something similar for Anthropologie in the past, but as I posted earlier, up close, this one just doesn't look like a Tano to me. (The patent handles & the embossed leather are not Tano-ish.) Megs, let us know what you find out so we can lay this one to rest for once and for all!

Yeah, this certainly makes more sense to me as well, but I have a hard time believing that two higher-ups at Tano would mistake their own creation. Steve was pretty specific... giving details. Without photos I'm not convinced.

Okay ladies- thanks to Megs' info, I found this for you all.

Its in french but if you google it and translate it, you can find this bag. It's turquoise, with that same motif on it. It's selling for Euro 320.

I just received this email from Steve at Tano:

Hey,

I'm sorry, it was my mistake. I looked at it quickly on my iphone screen and confused it with a tote we ran around 4 or 5 yrs ago that was very very similar. If I have a minute this week I'll try to dig up a pic of the shape I'm talking about and send it to you. Unfortunately I can't help to identify the maker of the bag in the pic. Again, my apologies.

Regards,
Steve

So I guess a Tano higher-up can mistake their own product. I wouldn't have thought it. Thanks to Megs, we finally do have an answer. Damn, I love a good hunt.
