Japan Goyard

When I was there around in May, I saw mini anjou at Isetan. Only 2 colors, one has “Love” print and another in red.

In contrast, mini anjou or any anjou for that matter was not available in Takashimaya.

It’s not that common, but do try.

You may want to check out the link below for Survival tips for Japan Goyard shopping. Skip intro and ffwd to around 1 minute mark.

The Goyard lines are insane and I wished I knew these things!

On the positive, Japanese Yen currency as of May was unbeatable! Probably Goyard was even cheaper in Tokyo vs Europe and way cheaper vs US.

I went to the stores in Tokyo last August and I didn't have any issue getting either store. Slight queue of about 15-20 minutes at Nihonbashi but much better stock of items. Was deciding between the Boeing 45 and the Artois GM. I know it was insanely hard to find the Boeing 45 in any color at all so I took the black one (and I've grown to love it).

Kyoto and Osaka stores had good stock and NO line at all FWIW.

Went to both stores in Osaka yesterday. There was a 30-40 min line at Namba and none at Umeda. Both only had the mini anjous in red, yellow or white with heart. No St Louis pm's in neutral colours (only orange I believe) but a few in the GM size. When I came back in the afternoon hoping for a restock all mini Anjou colours were sold out.

Visited Namba store again this morning to retry my luck (10 min line today) and they had a grey mini Anjou but only with heart (extra 920,000 yen) so I decided to skip. Also had white, red and yellow again all with hearts. The heart painting is charged separately btw and you can't get a tax refund on it!

It's my last day tomorrow so will try again but I'm having low hopes for stock - Korea is next so if not here hopefully I find what I want there. I'm after a plain blue, green or grey mini Anjou

So I was there recently. Decided against a pouch and ended up getting a St. Louis GM. I wanted that or an Artois MM but they had run out of the latter.

Advice - go early! We went in the evening to the Ginza one, and not only was the wait almost 2 hours they had run out of bags. The St Louis GM only had two left when I was there, and luckily I liked that color (wanted sky blue but couldn’t get it).

They had also run out of all the smaller bags, so didn’t get to look at those.

But they get stock daily. They don’t know what it is in advance.

So mornings are the best bet!

I still would love the Artois MM but we didn’t have anymore time there. They had an GM but wow is that huge and heavy!

BTW these are non refundable. But I always wanted the lighter St Louis so I am happy with it!

Is it worth it to buy Goyard in Japan/Korea if I'm from the US? I'm traveling to Asia next year and am wondering if I should wait it out. I only want either a card holder/wallet with a budget of around $700.

Will definitely be cheaper in Japan. The only issue might be availability but if you’re flexible on the model/color you want you should be able to get what you need!

Cheaper by how much you think? I'm not in a hurry to get it haha. Prefer green monogram or a darker color like brown.

If you visit the pricing thread in this forum, you can compare the pricing on a few models between US and Japan to get a sense! For a small purchase like an SLG it may not be a huge deal, but for a purse definitely worth it. I got a St Louis in Paris earlier this year but considering getting another in Japan later this year.

Is it cheaper for a Saint Louis in Japan compared to Paris? I just got a GM in Paris but heading to Japan at the end of the year so might consider picking up another if the price is good compared to US.

When I bought mine it was marginally more expensive in Paris, like less than $50 more expensive. But I don’t know if that’s still the case with the ride the JPY has been on.
