Yeah she really does. She has often called her friends her extended family...especially her former dancers.

In fact just last night Janet brought many of her former dancers (who became her friends) from her different eras to perform "Rhythm Nation" at her State Of The World concert last night at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles:
