Janet Jackson is among the 2019 Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Inductees which include Radiohead, Stevie Nicks, Def Leppard, The Cure, Roxy Music, and The Zombies.

With Janet becoming an inductee in 2019 she now becomes the 6th member of her family to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame the Jackson 5 were inducted as a group in 1997 and Michael Jackson was additionally inducted as a solo artist in 2001.

Janet released a statement reacting to the honor. “Thank you Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” she says. “I am truly honored and I am happy to be in there with my brothers.”

Janet was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award at CARNIVAL Choreographer's Ball by Paula Abdul who was Janet's main choreographer during the Control era (notably choreographed Janet's music videos "What Have You Done For Me Lately", "Nasty", "When I Think Of You", and "Control" ).

Paula's introduction speech about Janet is nearly 10 minutes (it is a long speech but I also thought it was nice/sweet speech) and then Janet's speech starts at 12:45 in the video.:

Janet Jackson Announces 'Metamorphosis' Las Vegas Residency




The 15-date Park MGM will kick off on May 17

Janet Jackson is joining the A-list stampede to Las Vegas; the global pop superstar announced her glitter city residency, Metamorphosis, on Tuesday (Feb. 26).

"Metamorphosis peels back the layers of the immensely private life of Janet Jackson, sharing her transformation from a young girl with issues of self-esteem to global Icon," reads the description of the show, which will set up at the Park Theater at the Park MGM resort beginning May 17.

The 15-show run is currently slated to run through Aug. 10. "The centerpiece of this all new thought-provoking show, will be Janet herself, captivating you through your senses with electrifying visuals, explosive dance numbers, chart-topping hits and fan favorite deep cuts," the description continues. "The show also features a special 30-year anniversary celebration of her ground-breaking album Rhythm Nation. Fans will follow her path to self-love, empowerment, motherhood and activism, amidst the challenges faced along her personal journey. She encourages her audiences to find their own light within themselves through her Metamorphosis."

Members of Jackson's fan club will be early access to an exclusive presale beginning Wednesday (Feb. 27) at 10:00 a.m. PST, while the general public on sale will begin on Saturday (March 2) at 10:00 a.m. PST. Citi cardmembers will have access to presale beginning Weds. as well at 12:00 p.m. PST until Friday (March 1) at 10:00 p.m. PST . I was so excited to see that until I looked at the dates no thanks I would freaking melt in Vegas summer time. I hope she does more shows and this is the first part of her residency. I’d love to go but in the fall/winter time lol.

Thought this was a sweet moment

Gladys Knight and Janet have known each other since Janet was a toddler because of the Motown connection they have. While Gladys Knight and Bobby Taylor were artists at Motown they helped discover Janet's brothers The Jackson 5.
