Love this, the leather is simply sublime! I personally cannot pull off this style, so kudo's to making it work for you! I once had one in caramel, sold long ago, but I think if I had this combo, I would have forced it to work
This leather reminds me a teeny tiny bit of the Givenchy pepe leather - which is not as wrinkly but definitely "tough".
Was the strap on your Besace shortened? Or were they using shorter straps with the flat brass HW?
Thats one of the things I didn't like about the Besace -- all the excess leather from the strap
I don't like cross body bags, so in order to carry this as a shoulder bag, I had to fasten it so far down the strap, it left this super long piece of leather just hanging there (don't know if you can tell by these photos, but I think you can tell its much longer than yours)

@nicole2730 - This is the first one I’ve had with the shorter strap so we’ll see how the test run goes! And you are spot on. Definitely seems like this leather can take a beating and be a workhorse of a bag like the Givenchy Pepe.

In my post above, the "Moto-Tough” Arena FB (Style: 100666) the strap is approximately 15” when placed on the last hole.
From the same season, F/W 2002 PHW Multi-Zip (Style: 105009) has a strap approximately 28” on the last hole with extra length to make it even longer. This strap resembles yours.
@muchstuff or any Bal expert, please weigh in! Why is this? Are the Besace and Hobo actually two different styles with different strap lengths? If so, which is which? 🆘
I’ve always used the names interchangeably but I believe the flat brass are hobos and the besace have the longer strap. As a shortie I can’t do long strap/cross body bags. Thats why I’m glad this strap can be shortened so much - just wish there was a way to hide or even fasten the access leather. Thankfully because the leather is so thin & light, it lies pretty flat

Same bag, 2 different styles would account for the different straps
