Is Louis Vuitton Monogram too ostentatious?

I totally have RBF, I’ve been told numerous times by some of my best friends that I used to give them horrible looks (before we were friends). I didn’t know until they told me. Maybe she is just unaware of her RBF! :P On the other hand she could just be one of those super unhappy people that gives off that energy!!
Carry what makes you comfortable!!

My husband thinks my work face or game on face is angry face so I can also relate lol.

But no this person definitely give off unhappy energy. Quite frankly, I am kinda impressed her RBF face is that good like someone pissed in her cereal. She did run away from the reformer super fast so maybe she really did have indigestion lol.

Why do you think the look had anything to do with your bag? And as other posters say who cares. sounds like you were judging her as well how she was dressed and how plain her outfit and bag were. We are all guilty of sizing up people to some degree, some people are more obvious than others. As long as it was just a look and no comments were made, you will never know what was going on her head. And back to the question, Yes.
Any designer bag with well recognized style (chanel , hermes Birkin or Kelly, any LV monogram) is ostentatious.

I probably should add this woman had an hideous mom plain cotton canvas tote with a UF embroidered on it. I kid you not it looked like she was carrying a medicine cabinet in there because it was packed with all sort of stuff…and most likely as @indiaink just mentioned to treat her indigestion. lol
Maybe she’s not a purse person.
LV bags are a dime a dozen, I don’t think anyone cares.

you never know what people are thinking. I have a serious case of TBF. I call it Thinking ***** Face. While I was on the elliptical I was staring at this girls hair. Lost in thought about how beautiful it was. Then my focus came to and I realized she was looking at me staring at her. I can only imagine the look on my face. I probably gave her a new insecurity when I thought she looked gorgeous!

I don’t think so! I personally LOVE the monogram, DE and DA canvases. People who think they’re ostentatious or vulgar don’t have to buy or wear them ‍♀ If they try to make me feel bad about mine, I simply ignore them. Most of their reasons for disliking the canvas are so stupid anyway.

1. “It’s so obvious”- riiiiight. And a bag with a giant gold PRADA or YSL on it is subtle? don’t get me wrong, I love all three brands, but you see what I mean right?
2. “it’s expensive, therefore flashy”- these are usually the same people who say Hermes is classy, Louis is trashy. Now I love Hermes. BUT is someone with a 20k Birkin telling me I’m ostentatious or flashy for carrying a speedy that’s not even 2k? I don’t think so pall

maybe it’s me but I don’t think it’s nice to make fun of someone else’s bag when you created a thread about over analyzing whether the person was looking at you/your bag.

Isn’t that what a tote is for?

TBH, sounds like you’re the one with the problem. I’m quite sure she didn’t care about your bag. After all, LV ain’t all that.

I am the one with the problem. I rarely assume anything nice about someone who stares at me rudely.
LV isn’t all that; however, the monograms are undeniably loud and recognizable. From henceforth, I’m going to stick to my Loewe Hammock or LV Epi. TBH, your response could be nicer.

I got a nasty look during my Club Pilates class. The woman in the next reformer gave me such a nasty stare at my LV monogram Monceau bag. I was rather taken aback because I’ve seen women wear their 4ct engagement ring to that reformer flow 1.5 class. My husband told me I might want to not wear the monogram bag and go back to the LV epileather. He said the monogram is a lot more attention getting. I have a family of Monceau bags from a million years ago in multiple materials and colors. When something works, I like to get many versions of that bag. I had been wearing the black epi leather one since the pandemic started.

I go from work to Pilates class and don’t have time to switch out my gym bag. I even put my sock in a ziplock bag inside this bag. I didn’t particularly think LV bags was that loud because this is the less expensive bag in my closet considering how much the Chanel caviars gone up in price. So now, I‘m back in my epi leather and wondering how I got shamed in pilates class of all places. Am I over reacting? Perhaps the loud monogram is all in bad taste while there is a global pandemic?
LV is not something to give a nasty look for. The woman had to have something else going on
