Is it just me? So sick of Mini Bags

I hate mini bags with a burning passion. I steadfastly refuse to follow this "trend". They look ridiculous on a tall woman like me. You didn't see Grace Kelly covering her expectant tummy with a microbag. No, just no. They look like they stole their Barbie doll's purse! I don't care what other women or Tom what's his name from Succession might think of me for carrying a "capacious" daytime bag large enough to hold my stuff. Why are we such lemmings for impractical "trends"? It's the equivalent of the guys who still walk around with their pants hanging down to their knees-intentionally making life more difficult in the name of fitting in. WHY?

Now, for attending a luncheon or an evening event, a nice Jige sized clutch works well. Otherwise, gimme a bag with some space!

There’s something liberating about only having your car keys and a card holder in your bag so I still love mini bags. But I can also understand that some people need to carry more!

I'm a maximumalist at heart. I wear a medium - large bag on the daily. I love a full size wallet. Yes, I still carry some cash. I'm of the mindset that in case of a power outage, I can pay for neccesities with cash. And, in case I go somewhere that's cash only, I'm set. I also do not leave my garage door opener and toll reader in the car, so my bag needs space for that. Not to mention the key fob for the car and home security remote. Extra face masks, disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer must be in the bag too. Plus, prescription eyewear and sunnies. And phone and water bottle. The only time I carry less is when I'm on vacation or when I'm not the driver on outings.

I like having a variety of bag styles and sizes, as they all serve different purposes. In the past week, I have used everything from a tiny Givenchy mini moon cut out which barely fits a phone or more than a card holder, key, and lipstick as well as the YSL Icare tote which is large enough to use as an overnight bag (I have literally traveled with this as my only bag and fit change of clothes/shoes, toiletries, laptop/chargers, and other essentials). There are times I use bags that have very little in them with lots of empty space and times I use bags that are filled to the brim. In fact, there was a time where I used Wallets on Chains more than actual handbags. I think it's fun to mix it up and match the right handbag, regardless of size, to my outfit and mood! But I do understand why this trend is frustrating, and on a whole, I find the micro bags the most ridiculous and impractical.

I love my mini bags (Chanel Pearl Crush & 2.55 and Goyard Poitiers Claire-Voie Bag) to use on the weekends. All I need are my card case, lip balm, phone, keys, and pocket tissues.
