Is it bad to not go to lots of consultations?

Basically, I'm pretty sure I want to do surgery at JW next year simply because I've seen their videos on YouTube (they've operated on quite a few famous instagrammers) and I've also read blog reviews on them so I am pretty sure I want to be with JW. Is it bad to set your mind to go without consulting other places first? I also read that booking with JW means they will pick you up from the airport to the clinic.

Thoughts ? :3

you should first consult them in person to see if you feel confident. Before I ever went to korea, despite setting up multiple consultations with various surgeons, I had my mind set on OZ clinic only because out of all the clinics I had contacted, OZ gave me the most detailed responses. And the only reason why this is, is because the surgeon was the one answering the emails. This is not often the case in Korea as surgeons are usually too busy to handle emails on their own and therefore the staff responses to them. But because OZ is a one man clinic and doesnt have much financial backing, the surgeon basically does alot of things himself. After I visited OZ in person I noticed some less than ethical things that happened during my consultation - the surgeon had left a patient (who his nurse said had some complications) on the operating table to come out and give me a consultation. Big no no. He even washed the blood off when he came into the room.

So what I'm trying to say is, you never know your final decision until you go to korea and consult in person. To add, its also ideal to get various opinions, compare the pros and cons empirically to make a sound decision.

Doing more consultations is best. But with JW, if you're going during the peak periods, it'll be hard to get a surgery slot soon after your consultation as they're always fully booked.

I'm going late Nov and have left a deposit to secure surgery slot. I have heard a few people not being able to get a consultation until 1-2 weeks later.. and I know that, right now, they are quite booked throughout dec too.

But if you're going during off-peak months and you leave enough time for consultations at multiple clinics before surgery, you should be fine.

Keep in mind that all the youtubers/bloggers all get the very best of the clinics, from reception to the surgeons, a normal patient will be disappointed if you expect that much as an average customer:sad:
For transport, you could go with an agency to sort that all out for you, I think you really need to see a lot of doctors so you find someone you can fully trust with your face. I asked Eunogo and they got three different clinics to give me recommendations on which methods would be best and quotations.

The best thing is to compare by having consultations in different clinics to help you make a decision
But if you're dead sure about going to JW, you can pick one clinic and go there. But make sure it's okay to go straight there without having other consultations
And yes JW provides airport pickup service

I think it is vital you pick the best plastic surgeon for the procedure you want. There may be many PS working in one clinic, some better than others or more specialised in one procedure than another. The way to be safest is to chat with real past patients of the surgeon you are interested in who have had the procedure you want. Just because a plastic surgeon is great at eyes does not mean he is also great at noses or V lines or fat grafting. If you want the best in rhino, find patients who love their rhinos and had a nose similar to your before and find out the name of the surgeon they went with. It is the surgeon, not the clinic that is most important. Hope this helps.

My opinion would be yeah the more you consult the better! You should shortlist your favourite clinics/hospitals first and you visit them all. I have been told that shortlisting and consulting face-to-face could adhere a whole different vibe. It is even possible you may not like your choice of places after vis-a-vis with the doctor, could bw their vibe, or their method.. Whatever really.. Anyway i heard that there are some popular clinics among local that is very busy and you need to schedule appointments with them way ahead.

I agree 3-5 consults is best. I saw 5 clinics over 2 days which i think worked really well. I contacted over 10 clinics online prior to booking the face to face consults though haha

This is such an old thread and the OP has gone for surgery (I think), but nevertheless, for those out there...definitely consult with more. A clinic's suggested procedure over email may differ by quite a bit from the surgeon's opinion, either because it was just the marketer who was replying or that the surgeon changes his opinion after his examination in real life. Also, how a clinic comes across over email may also not be what it's actually like, and I think we need to meet with the clinic in order to know if we'click' with their staff - for better or for worse, these are the people whose hands we'll be in to a) translate our concerns properly, b) take care of us during the operation, or c) ensure that our post-operative care is comprehensive, and we need to be sure that we're comfortable with them to a certain extent. Having a list of clinics to consult with allows us to keep an open mind and compare those aspects and also gives us a backup in case what we thought was 'The One' doesn't feel right.

I'm definitely a case in point - for my previous two surgeries I decided on my clinic before flying over to Seoul, and I was so fixated on my chosen clinic that those consultations I had with other clinics were just cursory consultations. Therefore when I was running out of time I had to settle for clinics that I didn't really feel comfortable with but felt more comfortable with than with other clinics because of the greater prior email interaction.

I'm currently in Seoul and am taking my time this time round. Will write more about my experience later but the differences in surgeon opinion and staff across clinics (some which were horrendous - one made me greatly doubt if I'd be given much care at all post-operation if I were to go with them) taught me a lot. Am not sure if I made the right choice yet but at least I know I tried to find what was best for me.

Best of luck to everyone else out there!! Am feeling very grateful for this forum at present.

I wanted to do arm liposuction and DES and planned to go late Nov but I can't make up my mind. I originally would like to go to smaller clinic for DES like Teuim; and then go to 365mc for lipo. Would you gals recommend to go to different places for surgeries in general? e.g. Go to a clinic that is good at one thing and then go to another clinic for another? Or would it be better to just go to one big clinic to get both surgeries done at the same time? Since I would only have max. 12 days in Seoul... What do you gals think?

Hi~sweetiesssss, just my opinion, as u might know, I got nose & fat grafting done, my friend got eyes, nose & facial contouring done this yr, for me, when i was ready to do surgery, I've already accepted my agency Docfinderkorea's recommendation so I just did both my op in 1 clinic, I thought it was really good for me, because I didn't need to go different clinic and I could save more time to go everywhere I planed... ƪ(˘⌣˘)ʃ
But my friend, actually at the first, she just asked me whether she should do op separately in different clinics which are specialized for each op... she couldn't even make a decision (and also lazy to collect the information (・Д・)), that's why i also introduced her to connect and go with DFK. They helped her to do online consultation with the clinics first, yea... also got the quotations from each then finally chose the one she wanted.(о´∀`о)
Well, as our experiences, we might suggest u to do in 1 clinic would be much more convenient, especially if u will go for it alone...or if u also think about any agency, I choose DFK just for ur reference tho... (⌒▽⌒)

Hey guys, just wondering how long I should plan my trip for, taking into account consultation, surgery date (can I secure a surgery date quickly after a consultation), and recovery? Thanks
