Is birkin/kelly cheaper in new york than europe or hong kong?

As titled... not sure if this has been discussed in the forum... hope some expert can help here as I will be going to New York in Sept....

When I was in Paris in early July, there were so few birkins available.... because every time I was there in the shop, there were already so many people from Asia, Middle East etc. waiting for the arrivals of the daily inventory... Seems like there are more available in the US, at least from the Inventory Forum here?!
