Is B/K/C not that hard to get anymore?

To be fair you might be right. Guess the shipments aren't that big. However, when you think about London...these people can buy the whole store at once. I spent a lot of time recently watching people in NBS ;)

At my boutique there is a lady who comes in with her husband every Saturday. I have seen them many, many times over the years (apparently none of us likes to cook, and we originally met playing tennis) and she has the most impressive exotic Birkin collection I have ever seen. I am certain she gets at least two per year....plus everything else they do....we have spoken many times, lots of travel, Aspen, he is always dressed in Loro Piana...There are probably multiple people like that at every boutique.

I think there is a lot of success bias when looking at this as a person with multiple quota bags at this point. I would argue, from reading history here, that getting one back in the 2005-2008 era was the easiest as it seems they were on shelves sometimes at that time? It also seems to me that the Share Your Offers thread has been more sparsely commented on for the past year; whether that’s due to fewer offers or just less reporting, I cannot say. But as someone else mentioned, once you get a bag from one store, it is seemingly much easier to get subsequent offers, imo.
The year bleu de Prusse Kellys first became available I couldn't get one. (Evidently I did not "qualify" for one). The next year one was on the shelf and I was thrilled to get it. I think I got a Toundra K the next year (transferred in from another store) and then a B25 the year after that (which was also on the shelf). That was the period of time you're mentioning, 2005-2008. People cancelled SOs b/c of the financial crisis.

Love to see everyone providing perspectives on this topic. In the end at least for me, it feels good that you only go to Hermes store to pick up the items that you really want and intend to buy at that time. I am not saying those items that I purchased when I just stepped in Hermes "game" back in year 2017 are bad, I do appreciate the craftsman, quality and beauty of Hermes product.

Despite I had not stepped in my local Boutique since beginning of year 2018, until a couple weeks to pick up the Birkin 30 solely for many reasons i.e. being lazy going to store in person, don't like the traffic or else (you know what I meant ), I did purchase Hermes items that I really want via Hermes online, from a $28 twilly soap, notebook insert, a bag strap for Kelly, and even recently a Hermes ready-to-wear Beach tunic, all purchased online.

I do not think the online purchase is accounted for your profile @ store, but it just feels good that you control the purchase yourself not the another way.

One of the Dumas clan said H manufactures "desire." HA! That's why we're all broke. :) (Or heading there). And that's why the on-line option for buying is IMHO a life-saver. Walking into the boutique can derail all future financial planning. Everything looks so yummy.

I think it's a combo of wish list item+availability+relationship with your SA. I have been lucky to get all the bags I wanted in a decent time frame (nothing crazy - RC, Gold, Noir B30 and GT K32). I was super lucky with my Mini K croc, I asked for the right piece at the right time. My wish list was fulfilled within 2-3 days and the mini Ks rarely show up at my boutique. Now that I have become super picky - I find it's taking more time.

Here is my observation. Due to huge price disparity between Europe and US, I think Hermes may have intentionally flooded US market with more bags. It seems easier to get B/K/C in US these days than a few years ago.

However, this big price difference between Europe and US plus the insane US sales tax have discouraged me from buying any bags in US. I have been getting my healthy "dose" from France in the past four years and I have been quite successful (4 Bs and 2 Ks).

I think it's a myth that the Birkin and Kelly are rare and exclusive. Look at the secondary market, even assuming 30% are fake, there's literally tens of thousands out there. The Hermes bag game is just that, a game. SAs decide from the moment you walk in when you will be allowed to drop $10K+ for their products. Some do indeed get that chance rather quick. Not harping on people who like the game, it's an adventure like anything else can be. As long as you enjoy playing.
I was extremely lucky with my first B. I walked into the store and ordered it right away. Than I moved to another country and couldn't pick it after 4 months when it arrived (this was 6 years ago), so I resigned and you know what my SA took an order for the second exact bag on the phone from me!!! I hear this is quite unusual for H SA'a. The second one I bought of course. And want to order more now:)

There is also more supply in Europe, however don't forget all European countries still have financial crisis, and even though Bs and Ks are great for investment, they are not as great as apartments in major city centers.
So the people who can afford to buy Bs and Ks, have just a few instead of a lot, and invest their money in RE instead.
With such low interest rates, also, they would be crazy not to, I would do the same.
Further to that, European people tend to value vacation more than goods, and would prefer to spend a month off on a resort and buy LVs rather than Bs and Ks.

Interesting observations. Not the case where I live (less crisis, strong focus on anything material and the people who afford more than average certainly pile up on B, K and C - more than 1 quota bag per semester for sure) but certainly something to consider. I feel there certainly is no lack in bags where I reside, but most of it goes to a certain clientele.
