Thanks for your input! If it is allowed, if anyone finds a newish black B30 in rghw or yg with a good return policy, please let me know!
It is slightly higher but given that you don't have a relationship with a a store, it would be the same if you have to buy other things before you get offer. Probably you can try to negotiate a little lower to $18K.

I agree with what other have said - $20k is high, but I completely understand your predicament. I think $16k ish is the max I have seen from reputable US resellers (excluding FP and other reseller cites). But I like the idea that you could exchange if necessary once. Rambling here.
If you understand you are paying for the convenience and that the price is probably at least $4k high, but you can’t find another from a US seller in a couple days, I would go for it as long as it is EXACTLY what you want.

I like the idea of being able to exchange it as well. But it's so expensive!!

I hope everyone is safe during this crazy time.

I have an update on the bag situation:

1. IG reseller from Malaysia/Singapore eclaire atelier is offering the black B30 GHW for apprx $16000. However, I can't see the date stamp and receipt until after I make a $2k deposit, which makes me nervous. Just buying through IG abroad makes me nervous although they are recommended by clients Mel in Melbourne and Jamie Chua on eclaire atelier's IG account.

2. I found a US reseller who has both black togo B30s in rose gold and yellow gold hardware for $18k. She's willing to send me the rose gold hardware next week and if I want to exchange it for yellow gold, can do so if I cover shipping.

Well, $18k is better than $20k! Which option would you choose?

If you really want this bag, and can afford the price than I would do it. But you must be financially capable. Obviously it is a lot of money, and you can probably wait and get if for less. But all that matters is that you are comfortable with buying it or on the reverse side , not getting it and feeling regret.
Buy from someone you trust, no need to stress and have sleepless nights over a handbag ( i have done that lol) also , you need to get it authenticated.

100% #2.

First of all, you won't be subject to import duties, which are impossible to estimate. Could be 10% easily which would make up the difference, pretty much. COULD be more. Could be less also. And it can take years to have duties assessed so you can't know immediately. But you also with a Singapore seller risk a bag stuck in customs and IF it were identified as fake it might be seized. Too much uncertainty there for me personally.

Secondly, the Singapore reseller (is it Singapore or Malaysia?) is asking for $2K without the images you need for authentication. This is sketchy. If they are trying to withhold details that could help a scammer or counterfeiter, I can see that - then they should have a certificate from bababebi already - I personally don't sell high value bags without them.

Thirdly (and I am assuming here) sounds like you will have a written agreement for exchange with the US reseller. This plus them being US-based would help you in any PayPal or credit card claim you might have to make in worst case. And will help you if you don't love the rose gold (personally it bugs me that RGHW does not match the heat stamp and zipper, otherwise I would love it).

The biggest Q is - how are they asking for payment? I will never, ever, pay for an expensive item, that I have not examined in person, by wire transfer. If either seller asks for this, run away quickly. With PayPal you have pretty strong buyer protection (I don't know if it has an upper limit). With most good credit cards you will also have purchase protection but it may not be over $10K.

Good luck!

Completely agree with all of this!

Insane price. Even if it wasn’t insane, the two options are suspect for reasons already discussed above. Currently there is a high premium for size 30, but that won’t last. IMO, its a buyers market now, and it’s possible the prices will soften further.

I personally feel very offended by the statement u made, just because resellers are asking payment via wire transfer which is practically what ALL singaporean reseller do like luxelexicon ruelamode doesnt mean they are out there to scam u. All of them accept credit card payment just only physically at the store while wire rransfer is reserve for oversea client. They have physical shop where u can examine the bag urself if you are worried so putting this box upon singapore reseller is extreme irresponsible of you. I hope op does not listen to this advice because im sure many of us here in the forum has paid by wire transfer

Instead op should look into the reseller background who they have dealt with who they have backing behind them, any influencer who use them and speak with the reseller to get more information.
