Matches fashion is actually the same you can select a box or "eco packaging" which is a plain box with tissue but theirs seems to always be defaulted to their box and you have to actually select the plain box if you want it where as net a porters seems random. (I prefer matches boxes!)


Unfortunately I made bad experience with Matches either.

I received my MG from Matches in a plain box though I am pretty sure "signature packaging" was marked at checkout.
I checked twice before placing my order because I had seen the beautiful boxes before and wanted one on my own.

It was very disappointing and I contacted the customer service but I got an standard answer which wasn't even a reply to my concern. So I decided to give it up and just enjoy my new bucket.

Too bad that the kind of packaging is no part of the order confirmation. So you are not able to double check after the order is placed.
 
They seem to be random too then. It's always automatically selected their marbled box at checkout for me which is what I've always received (even sale items unlike net a porter who never send black boxes for sale items anymore).

Yes, the second MG I ordered from Matches arrived with the marbled box though I didn't make anything different during checkout.

Maybe they ran out of fitting boxes. [emoji57][emoji38]
 
Just had the same experience tho with neither NAP or Matches, I just need to vent!

I used a consolidator MyUS.com to ship a mini bucket with some other items. I got it from Bergdorf and it seems that all it came in was a dustbag. MyUS.com then further decided to forcibly flatten the bucket and squash it inside the shipment box. I had a few other pieces of clothing that could have been used to stuff the bag and keep its shape, but of course no one bothered. The bag base is now no longer flat and there are many additional creases. I'm trying to get the bag back to some semblance of its original shape... any advice appreciated!

^ wow. i would be upset with that shipping company. have you filed a complaint?

with regards to the re-shaping of the bucket, i wonder if it would regain it's original shape if you simply stuffed it with a lot of paper tissue (really scrunch the tissues into the bag to form the shape of the bag), and leave it in there for a few days.

That's terrible!! Makes my little imprint seem not so bad. Regardless these bags should be packed well!
 
The imprint has softened some over the weekend however I have decided to return the bag. I love the color of the Sand and love the feel of the calf leather, but once I tried my items in the bag yesterday I hate how the bag hangs when I hold it by the top handle. Normally I love relaxed look bags, but the loss of structure on this particular style looks awkward IMO. I think for me the lady bag definitely needs to be in the structured veg dyed leather. Thanks everyone for all you input. :)

That is ridiculous!! I would be so upset if that happened to me too. Definitely complain bc that is unacceptable.
 
I just received my gorgeous Lady Bag in Sand from NAP. I'm so mad at the way it was packaged. It was in it's dustbag wrapped in tissue and placed in the shipping box. I have never spent this much money on a purse where they didn't put the handbag in a box of some type. They included a free tape measure and that has left an imprint on the leather flap. I'm extremely disappointed. I'm loving the bag and obviously can't exchange. Does anyone think the imprint will lift or know of a way to help (not showing in pics as bad as it is IRL) This was not a good first experience with NAP. TIA.

I just received my Black/Ballerina bucket today from NAP, and have the same imprint from their stupid free tape measure!! Mine did come in the pretty black box, but that doesn't help when they put the tape measure INSIDE the box. I'm irritated.

I could return it, but then I don't think I would get the duty fees I paid back. :/
 
I think they do refund the duties fees to certain countries now but only via store credit. I think though surely if you marked at damaged they would fully refund.

That's really terrible! I bet they have no idea that their free gift is damaging these gorgeous bags. Mine is going back tomorrow.

I feel the same...! so I've returned mine too. love it much more in veg tanned :)

i am glad to hear that you made a decision on this one and that you are able to return it.
 
i ordered the black ballerina Bucket I received it yesterday. I'm returning it, it looks like a return with scratches. I rather wait for one more month with the restock than getting one that's not perfect.
 
That's what the camello rosa I returned was like. The button connecting the pouch was also indented. The thing I've noticed with these bags through net a porter is once they start popping up as returns they're usually flawed in some way. And often I see the same style pop up once a week indicating it's a continuous returned item. My first black flamma bucket was like that I returned it and it must have bounced around a few people then I got the same one back again, that happened twice.
