Men don't notice details. DH ordered a couple new doors and told me he was going to make all the decisions. All the doors in our house are stained wood, not painted. After the doors were installed, I noticed that the doors were stain grade but the framing was paint grade. DH didn't notice and went ahead and paid the guy. Our current contractor found new framing for us and got it stained along with the door.

DH always says he doesn't care what I pick for the remodel but once it gets installed, he makes snarky comments about it. When I picked out the sinks, he didn't even want to look around the showroom with me and didn't want to see what I picked. Once they were delivered and installed, he made some comments.

Before the cabinets were installed, every time someone asked us what color the cabinets were, he told them they were honey colored. I kept trying to correct him. When they were installed, he said he didn't know they were going to look like that.

I can't ask for anything else now. DH just wants them gone even if everything isn't perfect. It is terrible to not have privacy in your own home for as long as this is taking.

I totally get it the lack of privacy. Even though the guys were installing siding I wouldn't shower till they left. I would go hide in upstairs bedroom while they worked on the walls with the sliding doors. I say I'm not going to pick anything for next bathroom remodel but I know I can't just stay quiet if I find it's not something I can deal with. I will probably let him pick everything then cancel half of his choices.

I am a little late for Valentines Day but I consider these okay for all year! I had missed the heart Nolita on outlet waiting for the price to go down. I had selling credits and got both of these from a seller for a nice price. One of them is a previous year model.

These are beautiful and really cute! They're both adorable and look great to enjoy year round.

Oh no.. it's one thing after another! Hang in there. Hopefully things go better today. We only did one renovation in our house and it's the bathroom downstairs. We thought we hung our towl bar high enough but it's too close to the top of the toilet. There's about 4 inches gap between the towel and the toilet. I think we need to go up another 4 inches.

Renovations are a major headache. There are always little things that don't go perfect. I was out of town when they installed the tall cabinets. They installed them flush to the wall and that left a whole inch of gap between the sink cabinet and the tall cabinets. The tile guy didn't cut the tiles slow enough and they all have chipped edges. The designer disagreed with my choice of a matching wood framed mirror that I wanted. We finally went with just plain only. Except when I got home I saw the mirror installed was different than what we chose together. She "tried" to please me by ordering an etched framed mirror. The etched frame has stripes. So we ended up with a striped mirror on top of a striped mosaic tile back splash. I ended up being very annoyed as a result. We need to renovate the master bathroom upstairs but even though we aren't financially ready I dread thinking about the whole thing.

Love your choices! The little red Nolita is very cute, too. You have a nice matching set now with your tote and large wristlet in the hearts and flowers.

Woohoo! It'll be good if she says no, right? Then you get to keep it?

Yes, of course I will keep it . She says No to pretty much all my stuff like the black Cassie. She did say Yes once to the white mini Borough years ago but I am not sure if she ever used it. So a few years ago, I asked her if I can sell it since she wasn’t using it and she said sure . Now when she goes out, I see her carry a mini black backpack type of “purse”.

PS. I just checked and the floral XS is available but I can’t guarantee it will come with a strap:lol:

Today has been ever worse in the world of remodeling! The appliance people came back again to install the things they couldn't before but the cabinet people still hadn't done everything they needed to the microwave opening so they couldn't install that. Last time they hadn't even looked at the oven opening because the oven was dented, so when they came back with the new oven this time, now they said the opening needs work. We were hoping the cabinet people would be here at the same time so they would know exactly what they needed to do, but they didn't come. Then my contractor makes an offhand remark that the oven opening is too small. I look at my specs for the oven and think he's right and have a meltdown. I'm thinking the cabinet people made the opening for the first oven I picked, and never got the message that I had changed the oven. I look at the specs for the oven the appliance guy had given me and it appears it is too big for the opening. They can't remake the cabinets. The granite and tile are already in. I made DH call the appliance people to see if we could switch ovens. By this time, I really want the oven I ordered and don't want to have to change. The appliance guy called back and asked me to measure the opening, and says it is going to fit. Plus he said he did send the specs to the cabinet people. So the spec sheet he gave me had the wrong info! I've calmed down now. At least I don't have to worry all weekend.

Yikes — glad it worked out after all. You are so close to being done — hang in there :). You will be cooking in your new gourmet kitchen soon enough.

Gosh, I’m so sorry, whateve. That was a lot to go through. Glad to hear it’s all going to work out ok. You must be looking forward to getting this wrapped up and moving onto cooking and baking in your new space.
