I feel like a real human woman carrying not one but two actual bags into work this morning. It's been so long. You forget how you treat yourself is in the little things like that too. @Iamminda get out of the sports bag! It's what led you to Toadville. Quality workmanship matters!:tup::yes:

Glad to hear you had a wonderful time carrying your two beauties this morning . I bet you looked like a million bucks too . I am so closed to switching out of my LeSportsac bag (using it since March) to..............another LeSportsac  (I have a couple new ones, tags not cut yet ). Since you are being so encouraging about bags here, will you encourage me to buy a new bag too? I haven’t bought a bag since 10/31/2019.

So my mom was admitted again to the hospital this weekend. She just got home last night. Apparently she ate something she shouldn't have and started nonstop vomiting and having diarrhea and had to be taken to the hospital. I hope this taught her a lesson to take care of herself because she listens to no one. I am terrified she's gonna end up getting the virus from her PREVENTABLE visits and be gone in a matter of two weeks.
Anyone else have parents who is being unnecessarily difficult during this madness?

Sorry House to hear about your Mom’s recent hospitalization—hope all goes well with her recovery at home. It’s a diffcult time for everyone with elderly (or near elderly) parents since they are most at risk during the pandemic. All we can do is just hope for the best.

Hi, going on day 7 no buying except a bday gift, not doing to bad i guess

Good job on 7 days of no buying — keep it going. The struggle is real once a person starts buying a lot or often (kinda like other addictions ). It will get easier the longer you go without buying. In the meantime, be sure to enjoy the new ones you got. Post some pictures on the forum like on the “which Coach you are carrying today” etc.

I understand what you are saying about the future. DH is ten years older than I am, and I've thought about this as well. Was the Scotland trip in October and Hawaii last December the end of this? I know this is one reason I decided we should go to CO to see his daughter, and she's going through some tough times. Plus I knew we'd be outdoors a lot. But a few days before we left, I really second guessed my decision for the trip. I know we won't fly anywhere again any time soon. Too risky for both of us. We'll just hang in there and hope for the best!
My DH is ten years older than me too. We aren't the ones that went to Scotland and Hawaii. We went to Las Vegas right before lockdown and I'm so glad we did. We almost cancelled as we knew the virus was coming but there had been no reports yet in the US, or maybe it had gotten to Washington state but nowhere else.

I'm glad you were able to take your trip.

I'm so sorry about this happening to your mom. I worry about one of us getting food poisoning or me cutting myself in the kitchen and having to go to the hospital now. They just recalled some onions so the risk of food poisoning is there.

My son hurt his leg months ago and it has taken a really long time to get better. I think it could be a blessing in disguise as it has kept him home during the pandemic. He's getting everything delivered so he can stay off his feet. I don't know how careful he would be if he went out.
My mom will be 70 this year and she just lost her brother. I know it's one of the things weighing on me that my time is growing short with her. She told me she is fighting with her credit card company because she bought "keto" pills off of a pop up ad for what was supposed to be $10 and they charged her a lot more.

To say I was beyond mad at her stupidity was an understatement. I could care less about the money but you're really going to take pills from goodness knows who with whatever in them? I don't think she took any but my gray hair has gotten more voluminous. You know what to do to get yourself healthy. You have all the time and money in the world to do it. It's aggravating when they just want to be happy and who can deny them that? At least she asked me who my yoga girl is on YouTube so here's hoping she's trying that instead.

I hope your mom gets to feeling better soon and answers the wakeup call. :hugs::hbeat: Parents!
I've seen those ads! Your poor mom, she is just looking for an easy way, like all of us.

Thank you. There's just nothing I can do from so far away. Food poisoning would suck at this time! Hopefully you got the good safe groceries! Did you get onions that have been recalled? Sometimes people have eaten it already after buying by the time the recall starts. The probability of you hurting yourself more than usual in the kitchen is no more than normal. I can totally commiserate with being more worried about though regardless of what numbers say.

Yikes, I didn’t know about the onion recall — no way of knowing if the ones we have are ok (most don’t have a sticker of origin)

She meant for her--were her trips to Scotland and Hawaii the last trips they would take, just fyi (along the same lines of thought you had in the post she replied to)

The recalled onions were from Bakersfield, which is right down the road. I checked the stickers on all the onions we have and none were from that company. More than likely, our onions are from Washington or someplace; it would make no sense to get them locally. We grow oranges here but I've seen Australian oranges in our store.

I am more likely to hurt myself in the kitchen because I'm doing more cooking than before.

It's frustrating being far away and unable to help.

I use onions every day!

DH uses a lot of onions too. When we don’t get any or enough with our weekly order, he would go elsewhere to buy it himself. I guess I have to call the supermarket since only one onion has a sticker. I know supermarkets sometimes get produce from different farms depending on price and availabilty.

You have a freebie I was nice enough to gift and only because I wanted peace and quiet around here. I love it when Stick storms off vowing never to speak to me again.
