A novel wow! That is a major undertaking. Do you sit down to write often? Could you share any tidbits? (It's ok if you can't or prefer not to.)

Our fearless leader was getting into writing when she left us. I hope she is very busy writing romantic novels. We miss you, @LauraTracy!
I write for 3-4 hours a day on the weekends and edit during the week after work. I don't censor myself and edit later. I don't try too much structure beforehand as that limits flow. :)

How fun and festive to be decorating a tree . If you remember, post a pic when done? I have not done a tree in like 8 years . I used to get a “baby” noble fir (maybe 3 ft tall) every year when DD was little and can easily decorate
Your baby tree sounds so cute! We always try to find a smaller tree so it doesn't take up too much space. The kids decorated the tree. You'll love it! I love the look of gorgeous trees with matching ornaments and ribbons. We don't have that look, but I love our tree too. Do you put up any decorations? I love all the decorations, for a month. It feels very cozy, and after Christmas I'm ready to put them away.

IM, I am really looking forward to your Ban Island Christmas card this year! I hope you'll have time for it. So I am reminding you now! ;)

No this is my first. It's literary fiction and I am working on the second rewrite. I have an agent so I am hoping I will get it published at some point. I have a high stress professional job so I never had time to write, but it's my passion and I am making the time  I want to feel like I have created my "art" before I die
This is great you are writing! Is the rewrite harder than writing the first time or do you find it allows you to think of new ideas and ways to tweak the story? It sounds like you are really enjoying this!

The rewrite is about the same difficulty, just different. I am enjoyed sculpting a tighter story out of my first draft. :) Writing is my true calling even though I ended up in tech. I am glad I am doing what I love finally. It keeps me from buying so may purses :D

This always fascinates me that many talented in tech/math/etc. are also really creative. I like the well-rounded combination of talents.

It's a novel about a woman who was in the Twin Towers on 9/11, (based on my life).
Wow! That's going to be an amazing story and must be difficult to write. I want to hear all about it!

I'll pm you and tell you about it :) I don't want to bore everyone here since this is a fashion and purse forum lol :D

This is so awesome, congrats!

I’ve also had some creative success outside of my “real” job. But honestly it was too much stress and I had to take a step back. Maybe some day I’ll get back into it lol

Ribbons on a Christmas tree? So fancy . I remember when DD was very young, we put a paper chain garland (made with construction paper) on it one year. I should look for my decorations and put a few things up. Over the last couple of years, I only sent out store bought Christmas cards (just to a dozen long time friends and family). It used to be a big project for me to look for the perfect picture of DD or the family to do a personalized Christmas photo card — and send out a bunch.

You still remember my very child-like island Christmas card? Lol. I felt bad I left out E’s name the first time (so sorry still E ). I would be afraid of leaving anyone out again since my memory is not the best and my mind is often a bit scattered.

Hope it wasn’t too crowded at the oil change place (did you do any online browsing while waiting, lol?)
Less people than usual so it was great. I actually took some work with me and got it done! It feels so good to have that out of the way. That leaves me with just a little bit more to do on Sunday to get ready for the coming week.
I did do some shopping online on Wednesday. Mostly things like shampoo, etc as well as s o me make up. Now is when you get the discounts.
