Help! I need a bantervention! I’ve been soooo good; I haven’t gotten anything (except all of the large Derby totes, for school, of course, that I rotate with my awesome Houston patchwork backpack) for months!

But... I made the mistake of looking at FOS for Christmas shopping. So, when looking for gifts for other people, I naturally ordered the Darth Vader hoodie and the “May the Force Be With You” round coin case for myself with yesterday’s extra percent off (because I suck at being banned unless I flat out don’t even look).

Then... I looked at the bags. Oh, lawdy, that was a mistake. I now have the metallic Rogues with snake trim calling my name. Please tell me they’re too similar to what I already have! Especially the rose gold with burgundy accents that would look soooo striking with my black Derby tote with oxblood interior...
The first 2 look similar but the last 2 don't look alike at all. That is a beautiful blue in the Rogue!

As some of you know, I’m the caretaker for my parents. This morning I had to take my dad for his bloodwork. I left my phone (as I was reading our blog) with him while I checked him in. Came back to the waiting room which was in full discussion about our purse ban! My dad had told him how I’m part of this “group that pledges to stop buying purses but we fail and then punish ourselves with pictures of naked ugly men” :giggle: Umm.... no, not quite dad!

Anyways the elderly group decided we should not ban ourselves because life is short and we will all eventually end up in this waiting room discussing stuff like what’s the best adult diaper, best nurses for drawing blood and insurance grips, they said to enjoy our purses and naked ugly men for as long as we can!
Priceless advice!!!!!!

That is just the funniest and cutest thing. I know you are super busy with your parents and don’t usually have time to post a lot. But when you post, it is always like the best or funniest thing :). I am glad you are part of our ban island.

 Thank you for sharing this, Chihua! I got half way through the first paragraph and started laughing out loud a little. I might have even snorted? By the end of the paragraph, I was completely cracking up. I also enjoyed their sweet advice. Thanks for the laughs! :hugs:

Doesnt @Addicted to bags have one of these?...she could tell you how it works for her.
I do have this bag and really like it but..... the straps are really fiddly.
The little tab is always sliding off and since the chain is adjustable it keeps moving around on your shoulder. But I wear it as a shoulder or crossbody bag, it might not be annoying if you wear it as a backpack. I love the bag itself, just want to change the straps

Thank you for your kind words, this thread is my life saver; has me laughing and smiling!

So if for some reason, someone hears about the Purse Blog involuntary “group”, my apologizes if they think it’s some kind of ugly naked men obsession club!

We aren't traveling this year. Usually we go to Texas to see my parents. We have three dinners we're invited to but only going to two. One is tonight and the other on Thursday. I was planning to make our own turkey but now I don't have to. I think DH is relieved for not having to make an elaborate dinner which my kids mostly won't eat anyway like green beans casserole or sweet potato etc. The only thing they will eat will probably be just the turkey. I am still going to cook a turkey this weekend. Buy it on Friday when they go on sale.

I'm going to make a turkey breast but it will be just for me and my boyfriend. I actually am enjoying not having to travel or really treat the holiday as anything much.

What's everyone doing for Thanksgiving? I'm not doing anything special this year and want to live vicariously.:P
We will be eating with family - not at our house. Lucky for me, what we were asked to bring can all be bought. Yay! No cooking, only eating. :graucho: Then on Friday I will sleep in and catch the tail end of Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. No shopping for me. I can't deal with the crowds. I will take my car for an oil change in the afternoon.

I never go shopping on Black Friday anymore, not even online. The prices end up being higher than what you can get later in the season due to the hype. I really have stopped buying as much during the holidays. I send my nieces gift cards and send a lot of gift baskets to various family members, but with both parents gone, I really only buy one or two actual gifts these days.
