That’s great that you are always reading. My DH often reads on his Kindle. But I haven’t read much in years, lol (I used to subscribe to a few magazines but I fell behind in them so stopped subscribing). DH always says that I should read more books instead of spending time on TPF (ggrrr!) or looking for purses. He actually wanted me to read the Marie Kondo book (slight hint there, lol).
I read the Marie Kondo book. My Mom
owns it. I prolly should reread it lol

DH is a newshound so he watches TV all the time. He loves documentaries. I love fiction. I don't want to learn; I want to be entertained. I always do something while I'm watching TV - crossword puzzles or playing on my tablet. I used to knit or crochet. I haven't done that in awhile.
I used to text and look at tpf a lot when watching shows. Then I realized I missed a lot because I have been watching shows
i need to pay attention to. Lol

When we watch together, DH always tells me I'm missing things because I'm looking at my tablet. I don't text or look at websites - that takes too much concentration. I play games. If I miss something, I just back it up and play it again. I don't have the patience to just sit in front of the TV. I need to be doing more. I used to do more productive things. Also, if I keep my hands busy, I'm less likely to snack.

I am a lot like your DH I think (isn’t he less adventurous when it comes to food? If yes, that is like me, lol). I don’t watch live tv either — I record and watch later too. I forget if it’s on Netflix or A Prime but in the last 6 months, we watched old tv series like Deadwood, Justified, and almost done with The Wire. We also really enjoyed a Japanese series called “Midnight Diner” — we need the subtitles though since we don’t know the language.
I don't usually have the patience for subtitles. That means I can't look away from the screen.

DH is somewhat less adventurous with food. He is adventurous in that he likes to try new cuisines, but there are very few vegetables he'll eat and he won't eat melted cheese or cream sauces. When he orders, he never gets a thing the way it comes - he has to tell them all the things to leave off. Once we went to this place that had a great grilled chicken sandwich with melted cheese and pesto sauce. He ordered it without the sauce and cheese, then complained that it was dry. If he has a bad experience, he won't go back to a restaurant. At Italian restaurants he always orders spaghetti with meat sauce (no cheese). I order different things at different Italian restaurants so I could to each of them a day apart, but since he gets the same thing, we have to wait until he feels like spaghetti again.

When I start a new book or start watching a movie, I don't like to read much about it before I start - I want to be surprised, but he likes to know the whole plot practically before we start a movie. 4 or 5 times during the movie, he'll put the description up again. He never watches regular TV series, only documentaries and reality shows. I have lots of shows I watch, mostly crime dramas.

I love to read. I always have a book going, usually fiction. I get bored with nonfiction usually. I like paper hardbacks. I get them from the library.

Im currently reading about the life of Coco Chanel....a real paper book too...otherwise I sometimes have 3 devices going at once...My samsung tablet , and Note 8 and phone.
I read a book about Coco once. It kind of destroyed my image of her.

My Mom is a knitter and always knits watching tv at night. She usually watches less intense shows. For me occasional texts and fine, but full on conversations I start to get distracted from what I’m watching. It does keep me from snacking though lol

I totally agree about hating spoilers! Sometimes i dont like viewing or reading the description because of that.

Speaking of shows.. anyone watching the new HBO show - Watchmen? Such an interesting and intense show. So much going on. Good show for a discussion.

We were looking for a new show to watch the other night — it was either Watchmen or His Dark Materials. I chose the latter because my favorite Lin Manuel Miranda is in it. We will probably also watch (lol) Watchmen though

I went back a few pages and saw @Syren is back! Woohoo! I missed you and your purse pics lol. Invisalign’s are a big commitment. Lol I had a few friends who did it too. One friend used to say she’d have saliva stuck in the trays while they were on. Hopefully that doesn’t happen to you lol.

I agree with having so many tv show to watch. It does get overwhelming, but I’m fortunate enough to be able to watch things while I’m working. So I do go through shows and movies quickly. And I try to save the inappropriate shows for home lol. Tbh, I spend so much time watching at work that when I go home, I don’t feel like watching and just kind go with whatever the kids or DH want to watch or I catch up on my manga or books.

On a personal note, I’ve hit the 30 week mark this pregnancy. It’s dawning on me how quickly 10 weeks can go by. Baby gear shopping is so different from before and it’s really distracted me from bag shopping lol

Oh wow how exciting, just 10 more weeks to go? Did the first 30 weeks go by quickly? I still remember when you first shared your baby news. Take good care of yourself and enjoy these “quiet” weeks before your new baby arrives.

Oh, I agree that JDM gets hotter and hotter as he ages, lol
