I am so excited for you about your Alaskan Cruise. It is definitely a once in a lifetime experience to see the glaciers up close (especially worthwhile to see them now since scientists say they are melting at unprecedented rate ). I went as a teen (eons ago) and it was very memorable. Enjoy .
Thank you dear Iamminda! I can finally relax enough to start looking forward to it!

Thank you, Iam! Isn't it also your 25th anniversary this year? I think you are I are close together--in August? DH and I are quite excited, he's never been to Honolulu before (and me since the 80s) so I would love to know some restaurant recommendations and anywhere you know of for live music! Thank you so much. Kids are coming for the first part of our trip which will be so fun. They've never been there before either.

It's the first time we've been to two islands in one trip so I'm really looking forward to the flight between Oahu and Maui it should be very pretty . One of the other posters told me about the Kihei Cafe in Maui so we will go there for an amazing breakfast one day. I think you might have seen that in the LV thread? We usually do our own cooking in Maui, but I do love Duke's at the Honua Kai Resort in Ka'anapali. The setting is so pretty and DH appreciate the musicians who play there.

I have probably asked you if you've seen "The Descendants"? It's my favourite movie with Hawaii as its setting.
Your trip sounds so exciting! Im sure you will have a wonderful time!

Maybe Hawaii?! Our family loves the sun, beach and ocean fun so Hawaii is well suited to us, particularly Maui because it's got some of the most beautiful beaches for swimming, paddle boarding I've ever seen. DH is adamant he wants to be able to actually swim in the ocean so that means a certain temperature for the water. I love the relaxation and peacefulness of Maui. Many of my friends go to Honolulu but I know that would be quite a bit busier than what we want.
Oooh it all sounds so fun! We do love the sun and the beach. We have been to Cancún and other places with the fabulous Caribbean Sea. We haven't done the Pacific Ocean yet. DH has talked about going to England a number of times, so he might lean that way. We have a year to plan and agree on a place to go. :coolio:

I like “The Descendants” too since I am a fan of George Clooney . A sweet movie,

Yep, it is my 25th as well, later this month. I keep jokingly ask DH if we can make it till then, lol. I need to hold off on everything (including any vacation) for awhile to help my folks (I will likely not be home much starting soon ),

We love Maui the best (like you, if I remember correctly). Off the top of my head, my two favorite restaurants are Lahaina Grill and Leoda’s Kitchen. And Sunday brunch at the Grand Wailea. Let me think about it some more and send you a pm if I remember others. So glad to hear the kids will be joining you for the first part. Have a great time,

Oh, we often go to two islands. The only downside is packing up everything for the second leg of the trip (especially if I buy a new bag during the first leg, lol)
Congratulations on your 25th! Praying you will be able to celebrate it soon. Hang in there.

I went to Vancouver maybe 15 years ago? It was very beautiful. I think I stayed at the Westin or one of the hotels near Stanley Park. It was my favorite part of the city, very large park with trails. The park is surrounded on almost all sides by the bay. You can rent bicycles to ride around. Definitely recommend checking it out on bike as there is so much! I think you can also drive around as well but it was so long ago I don’t remember haha
That sounds great! We're staying very close to Stanley park. We will look into renting bikes. Thanks!

I'm curious too! It all depends how much we're bringing. I love to get away without bringing much, but for long outings with food and water bottles, I bring a tote or someone carries a backpack.
I don't like to carry a lot either. ML really got me thinking about this. I will probably carry my foldover clutches and some MM slg's for every day. I need to take something nice for a nice dinner or two on the ship.

Oh that’s awesome!!! I would LOVE to
go one!! I’ve known people that have gone there on cruises and loved it.
Thanks!
You should go on one. They can be really great and a very affordable to see many places depending on what you choose. My guys looove cruises, so I am out numbered. So far we have visited 15 countries while on different cruises. I highly recommend it!

Thanks for your sweet words TO. I appreciate it. We will go out to a nice dinner (including DD, lol, although she couldn’t care less if we didn’t include her). Guess we can have a better, more ideal celebration in the future when things settled down. I was looking forward to a special celebration (maybe even a wow renewal, lol) before all this (being too self centered I guess, lol) but unexpected things happened so just got to roll with the punches. Anyways, thanks again for your good advice
You're not being self centered at all! That is a special milestone and it deserves a celebration. Maybe you can do it sometime later, like you said. In the mean time, I hope you and DH can have some joyful moments together. Maybe DD cares more than she lets on? It may not be cool at all to show it at her age?

I guess there many different kinds of outdoor recreation! I'm not sure what I was thinking.

Well, there's the outdoor activity at home where it's just a single handbag. For example, for golf I take a wristlet or pouch and put it in my golf bag. Drive to the course, maybe groceries afterwards, then home. Done. Or walking with DH and I might take one of my cute Crossbody pouches. That's easy.

I find though, that one often does many different kinds of activities on holidays and I'd like to take a minimum number of bags.

There's the beach where you need a beach bag (1). Then shopping (2). There's also walking, hiking, cycling (3). If you go out for nice evenings of dinners and shows (4). I'm up to four bags and haven't even selected my carry-on or packed!

I am not one for backpacks but I would consider one of those cute Coach backpacks, or dare I say the LV Palm Springs Mini? Impossible to get but very nice.

I don't want to use my carry-on Le Pilage (large) for a beach bag. The sand is insidious and gets into everything and you cannot get it out. I have an old LeSportSac tote for that.

I feel I'm growing my handbag collection to include travel bags and I don't want to really do that. Right now my plan is to take a small LePliage, the beach tote (both can be packed flat), my MFF black floral Sage carryall and my MFF Ruby turnlock bag (looks like the LV Favourite). I can take my denim tearose Crossbody pouch for the outdoor activity. I'm up to six bags including my carry-on. I think I need some bags to double up but when you're away for a couple of weeks, you want to have choices!

Oh well, some people bring a lot of shoes. I can bring a lot of bags.
You got me thinking again about what to take on the trip. I like having options too. I am still undecided about which bag to take as a carryon. It will have to serve several functions. I need it to be large for the plane, but not for other uses. :girlsigh:

I am so far behind in catching up. I miss the app. School is out so it's been a challenge keeping the boys busy. My dogs been running away almost everyday every time my DS1 forgets to close the door behind him. Luckily I notice quick enough to bring them back home. We are finally getting estimates for the new deck. First one is $17k. Second guy came today. We'll find out Friday how much they want. In the mean time SAS is killing me. I am trying really hard not to buy any bags. Missed out on the Joni bag. It sold out. I should've ordered it last week when the cash back was 14%. Now I feel stupid.

I finally sold a bag that I listed last summer! Over 1k+ view and 28 watchers and I only just needed one buyer! Lol!

I hadn't shopped FOS since last February! The last new Coach bags I bought were the two kisslock Disney bags and the Eric Inkala shoes. It feels like a long time since I bought a new Coach bag! However, I have been distracted by Balenciaga in the mean time so.. I don't really stop shopping.. Ever. I found a 1st generation red dinky for $40!:yahoo:Also found a few vintage Coach bags that I've been hunting for a while. View attachment 4459105

I miss the app so much too!!! Are you about to ditch us for Bal? (She says hands on hips and questioning smile on her face...)
You got some really nice vintage bags! I love the colors! Congrats on your sale!!! There may be hope for me yet. Lol!

I miss the app too! I wish it would take me to the last thing I read. I try to remember the page numbers but they all look like the same number after a while.

Congratulations on your sale! Sometimes I check on my listings like “can ONE of you guys just buy it?”
Agreed! It's really clunky on the mobile site. Anything you write piles up at the bottom of whichever page you are on instead of going to the end of the thread. So confusing!!! I'm sure I've missed some posts. :hrmm:

I guess when I travel I am much simpler with bags. I don't really like to have anything that I would care if something happened to it, etc, or takes up much room. I usually take a very small bag like one of those small crossbody bags because when travelling I don't need as much in my bag--just the basics. Also then it will fit in a carryon type bag.

As for things like the beach etc, when on travel, for actual beach days I honestly prefer just to use a shopping bag from a store I have bought from, that way I can just recycle/throw it away when done. I wouldn't want to have my beach bag in my luggage after going to the beach.

As for hiking, etc, the cheap drawstring backpacks are very easy. They pack small, they are washable, etc.
Good points!
