I just got a "really expensive" premium brand bag (Bottega Venetta) for under $100, used on ebay. I can't stop being a bargain hunter! My Balenciaga only cost $39.99 at Goodwill. I enjoy my bags more when they don't cost an arm and leg, because I'd be afraid to use them if I invested a lot into them. Even some of my Coach bags were pretty expensive by my standards. Several years ago, I went to Las Vegas and went to nearly every purse store, and tried with an open mind to choose a bag regardless of price. My favorite was a Coach that retailed for about $500. I ultimately ended up buying that purse on ebay for $150.

I think the quality of Coach, maybe not everything they make but at least some of it, is just as good as premium brands. I used to have a vintage Gucci and a similar vintage Coach from the same era. I did side by side comparisons, and there was no doubt in my mind that the Coach was nicer.

I've never posted my collection in one place on tpf. I've said before that I would need to use aerial photography to get them all in one photo.
Wow! I love this! I would enjoy using them more for less too. I am not finding great deals like this, but I'm not giving up. I think my issue is that I feel guilty spending a l lot of money on something I already have plenty of because I'm not using to doing that. LOL about the amount of bags!

Gosh, you always have the knack of finding these premier bags at bargain prices. How do you do it? Luck? Being at the right place at the right time? I can’t wait to see your new BV (I would love to try one some day). Just yesterday, I tallied up my premier bag expenses and it is sobering. But I put all of them into regular rotation and treat them the same as all my bags.
You have the right attitude about this, and you're using the bags so that's not a waste.

The amount of money shouldn't be the determining factor if you love the bag. In my current collection, the bag that cost the most is a Henri Bendel that is beautiful and beautifully made. I bought it at the store for 20% off. I don't think Henri Bendel has maintained the quality they had five years ago when I got this bag. I also have a leather Longchamp that was a little pricey but really nice. I got a killer deal on a Reed Krakoff duffle when he went out of business - I paid $223 for a $1500 bag.

I think with Coach, I have the attitude that a lot of Coach oldtimers have - if you wait it will go on sale or to the outlet. I've had the experience where I bought something full price only to have it show up at the outlet for less than half what I paid, often only within a few months. The only Coach I currently own that I paid full price was a Snoopy duffle. I thought it would sell out but some people got it at the outlet later. The other problem with Coach is that they get rid of styles so quickly and there is always something new, so the old stuff usually sells cheap. The only Coach items that have grown in value are some of my keychains!

Well, I am glad you were able to find these at great prices. I love your beautiful Bal Club and would totally get a black one but I should be banned for awhile. Even if I could buy a bag now, I don’t know what I want to get since there are probably like 6 bags I am interested in. I really should continue to speed date and use each bag for a week at a time and not buy any more till done. That should take me to summer. Not sure if I am strong enough to resist for so long.

I can’t remember what amazing weave bag C have. I hope she shows us again.

The Bal was complete luck! It was under some other purses in the case at Goodwill, and I wouldn't have seen it if I hadn't asked to see inside the cabinet. Then I was afraid to buy it in case it turned out fake. I doubt I would have bought it if it had cost more. The BV I bought a few minutes after it appeared on ebay. I probably wouldn't have gotten it except for the price and I really wanted to try the brand without too much of a risk. But it is purple and a good size for me. It doesn't have much weaving except for the handle and the way the seams are done. Did you see the one @carterazo got? It is amazing!

Thanks. I really love my $90 Coach Sullivan (a favorite of mine, lucky find at Macy’s) as much as my expensive bags. I am generally happy with my current collection after selling/buying many bags these past few years. As I said recently, my collection is at a pretty good size/number right now. It is just a matter of keeping my absolute favorites and most ideal bags and deciding on the fate of the rest.

I'm headed to Germany with DH for a week, fellow islanders. We're going to stay with a cousin for a few days and then spend time in Dusseldorf. Taking my Coach turnlock tote in green (crossgrain works so well for travel) and my trusty Fossil crossbody, which serves me well in cities. Enjoy your week!

Have fun on your trip!! Send us a bag pic if you get a chance!

I know price shouldn't matter so much. I think if I found one bag that I couldn't stop using, it would be worth spending more, but I'm really happy with the bags I've gathered so far. I am learning so much here! Thank you both for your wisdom. It has really helped me to slow down and think about what I'm adding.

Took my Isla out for the 1st time today - love this bag!!! Perfect for a day of walking around shopping/sightseeing. This is the only Coach outlet bag I own, but the quality feels like FP to me. Quite roomy too.

That is so fun and bright! Is Poppy an orange-red or a true red? I got the tea rose charm in poppy, but it looks like regular red. I love it!

@whateve I got the Chelsea Crossbody!!! The turquoise is amazing! The bag is amazing! I love it! Thank you so much for showing it to me. I loaded it up to see what will fit, and I will have to do a major downsize, but it isn't too small. I'll use a small wallet or card holder and have plenty of room for the basics. The color is so rich. It is more beautiful than I imagined. Color is definitely right up there for me, almost as important as the bag style!

Hi C. Good to see you. Good luck with your new assignment at work. Not much going on with me except I am trying to stay banned for the month of March (committing to a ban for a month at a time, kind of a low bar I am setting for myself but better than nothing, lol). Have a great weekend.

That’s smart! It’s daunting to think that I won’t buy anything for a year! I will try it for March too!

I'm so happy you love it! See, I told you the color is gorgeous but I can't get a good photo of it. It is a little small for me. I have to put my sunglasses on my head since they don't fit in the bag well.
