Is the potiron, SB I or SB II? costa and I were just talking about potiron being discontinued for a while. http://forum.purseblog.com/hermes/should-i-consider-orange-469414-2.html

Someone or 4 people should grab this, etoupe crinoline, barenia picotin and croc kelly 25!:woohoo: Croc kelly 25s are cute. :ty:, shoemania. It must be fun meeting the owner of H store @ Duet.

IFFAH, I believe it was an SB-I. I recall it had a big heavy lock, but I'm not sure if the SB-II has this too. I know the SBI and SBII have different hardware, but all the bags were behind the counter on shelves, so I didn't get a chance to handle them all. I plan to go back soon, so PM me if you want details and I can check it out for you when I go.

I've been to Duet before as my daughter lives nearby, but can you tell me how were the birkin and kelly prices? When I was there a few months ago my impression was that they were a bit high based on the condition and age of the bags and the current (lousy) economy. I wondered if prices had been adjusted accordingly.

MrsKing2, I'm still new at determining value and "good" prices for the resale market, so I'm not sure I can answer this. I know there are alot of factors that go into determining what one should pay for something resale (condition, rarity, how long you would have to wait to buy the item at an H boutique, etc.). I can say that everything I looked at was in very good condition and cost less than buying new from an H boutique, but there were no "steals" or I would have come home with a thing or two - hehe.

When I was there in March I felt the prices were a bit on the high side for resale items, given age and current economics. For example, we see now how many birkins are on the shelf at H Boutiques worldwide, just from postings in this thread! That said, Duet is a lovely boutique, the owners and staff are very gracious and helpful and in addition to their Hermes items they have great bags from Chanel, Prada and Vuitton. I'm hoping on my next trip back that I can scoop up a "steal"! At least I'll try:yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

I don't think there are ever any "steals" when it comes to Hermes! (sigh) And if the prices were to low, we would probably be suspicious, right?

Hermes bags do, for the most part, hold their value.

I agree MrsKing2. A few of the same bags identified here, have been there since Feb... IMO the pricing is what prevents their sale. H definitely holds value, but there is something to be said for realistic resale pricing a la kaleidoplace and sandiaexchange for example. My thinking was, if I'm only saving 1K, I rather have the boutique experience... just my opinion. But the store is lovely and the owner is quite nice and helpful.

I'll be heading to Vancouver next week June 13-20. Does anybody know the inventory there? ...but the most important question is, does anyone know the price of 30 birkin in cananda vs. USA??? Is it cheaper???
TIA:D
